Kvasir’s Poems might have to be my favorite text based collectible I’ve ever found in a game. Kvasir is from Nose mythology but I can understand if people think their content breaks the immersion but I love them. How many have you found? Any favorites so far?

I’ve found the pacing to be a little slow for my tastes. There’s a few too many fights against fodder and puzzles between each plot point. I know each world probably cost a billion dollars but I would’ve liked a crisper pace.

Beau!

So excited!

So I couldn’t stop playing and now I’ve near platinumed Ragnarok

No spoilers— the beginning of the game nearly broke me. I had a life event similar and their amazing production value just hit it straight home. I’ve sniffled a bit in games because it was sad, or emotional, but this was real “I know exactly how this feels and they’ve captured it” territory and it was beautiful and painful. I’ve now played past the current stoping point because I’m loving this game, but that opening scene is still the one that plays on repeat in my mind.

Hey all, brand new to this patreon, and singed up for this deepest dive. Is this where we submit comments or someplace else?

I love the wit in this game- especially when it seems to be able to read my mind. For example, when Kratos turns the gigantic broken wheel so you can pass through in your canoe, I was thinking how convenient it was that it stopped right where I needed it to. Then Atreus immediately says something to the effect of "wow, good job getting it in the exact position we needed it". Another example is when you explore around and find a familiar-looking type of door where you can use your magic ice chisel thing. My first thought was "oh I still have that from the first game?" And Atreus makes a comment to the effect of "well, glad to see that thing still works". Anyway, this game is incredible so far and I can't wait to play more!

Here's a super niche detail I picked up and I'm not 100% sure it's true because I'm too scared to Google anything for this game just yet but... that was totally a Bear McCreary cameo (as Raeb iirc) in the tavern in Nidavellir, right? As soon as I heard the hurdy-gurdy it took me back to the Black Sails intro he did so I looked up a picture of him and I'm 90% sure it's meant to be him (and is likely voiced by him too I'm guessing).

Have you been reading Kratos’ journal? It is incredibly inconsistent in its characterization. Sometimes he’s Kratos and he writes in short bursts of vital information. And sometimes he sounds like he writes for Vice. The characterization in the proper game, especially for Kratos, is so well done and so unnecessarily sold out by a sloppy first person journal.

I really enjoyed the dialogue details in the opening fight with Thor. I noticed it didn't happen when Ben played, but for me Thor shouted "still trying to remember your old moves, eh?", which very accurately summed up how I felt in the first hour or so. Loving the banter so far from the characters in general too!
