On the next episode of CrossFade, we’re excited to be joined by Natalie Marlin (https://twitter.com/NataliesNotInIt)! We’re finally cracking into Bruce Springsteen with “Darkness On the Edge of Town”! We’re contrasting The Boss with Archers Of Loaf, a band Matt’s mentioned a few times on the show. They released their first album in 25 years this July, so now’s a great time to get caught up on their 1993 record, “Icky Mettle”!

Leave a song or question about music, Natalie’s work, or just about anything else on this post by the end of the day Tuesday, November 1!

If you only have time to listen to one song from each record…

Never heard CrossFade? It’s free, fun, and sexy!

CrossFade is a music podcast on the MinnMax network hosted by Matt Helgeson and produced by Jason Dafnis. Matt and a guest swap some of their favorite music and listen into it with each other. It’s a great way to hear new music and hear smart people talk about some of their favorite music.

Also, it’s YOUR SHOW as MinnMax supporters, so ask questions, leave songs, and let us know what you think! Even if we don’t get to your song this episode, we’ll add it to the CrossFade Community Spotify Playlist (https://spoti.fi/3aRRgox) and your song might be pulled on a future Community Shuffle episode, so keep sharing!

CrossFade is free for everyone, so subscribe and share with a friend before the next episode publishes: https://apple.co/3kWBb5K

Thanks for checking it out!

Hey crossfaders! We all know that our tastes peaked in High School and what we were listening to then was the best! What music do you enjoy now that your younger self would dismiss and call you a lame? For me it's disco, growing up in Chicago, the home of disco demolition night, you would think that disco is terrible.....it's not! Donna Summer fucking rules! https://open.spotify.com/track/5Dxv2JoDim8FfyUzCbOqvQ?si=YKUw4Y-HR120Is6GLwyoKA&utm_source=copy-link

World / Inferno Friendship Society https://open.spotify.com/track/3q13t8jE4M4FLEvUyOpP6i Because of the Halloween season and because you are talking about a new jersey legend, it is only right that I share Pumpkin Time by the World/Inferno Friendship Society. They used to put on an extravagant Halloween show every year and would close the show with this song, which hails the coming of the great pumpkin every year. Unfortunately, the front man Jack Terricloth, also a son of New Jersey, is no longer with us as of May of 2021, but the music remains forever.

I really enjoyed last weeks episode and was wondering when it’s a “theme” like that how does that process work? Do people reach out to you with theme ideas or do you think of people that might fit that.
