Hello! Thanks to your support on Patreon, we hit our previous goal and had a great time playing through Chibi-Robo.  During that playthrough, Sarah Podzorski talked about the local co-op glory of Shrek 2 on the Nintendo GameCube. We also realized that, despite years of podcasting with her, we've never actually met Janet Garcia in person. Naturally, we all arrived at the same conclusion. Today we're proud to announce our new Patreon goal: Trek to Shrek!

If we hit $17,000 on Patreon, we'll fly Janet Garcia to Minneapolis, Minnesota to join us in the MinnMax Studio to play Shrek 2 on the GameCube. Since it's her first time in Minnesota, we'll also be showing her the best the state has to offer: the Mississippi river, Juicy Lucy cheeseburgers, tater tot hot dish, the Mall of America, the old Game Informer office, several of our 10,000 lakes, the list goes on and on. We'll also create a fun video chronicling her grand adventure across the country. The travelogue video will be like the one we did showing our trip to San Francisco for GDC.

We need your help to hit the goal. If you've ever wanted to unlock new benefits by trying out a higher tier on Patreon, this is the time to do it. If you change your tier now, you can unlock these benefits for July. Here are some options....

$5 - Unlock the bonus podcast feed, which gives you early access to the podcast every week and a huge backlog of bonus podcasts and fun commentary tracks for Jurassic Park. Star Wars, The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, and Advent Children.

$10 - Do you want to vote for New Show Plus and watch an unedited version of the podcast every week with a pre and post show discussion? Well then the Backstage Pass is right for you.

$20 - Join the MinnMax Council to unlock a secret channel in Discord and to call in to podcast with us on Party Chat. Ask anybody who's done it, it's fun and easy. In July, we promise to record an episode on Sunday evening as well if that works better with your schedule. We'd love to hear some new voices!

$50 - Choose any game under the sun and we'll declare you the Champion. At the end of July we'll have another poll with everybody's picks, then we'll work with the person who chose the winning game to create a bonus video celebrating that game. Last time around Thomas Bourne from the community won with Persona 5, and they got to record a whole bonus podcast with Joe Juba, Kelsey Lewin, and Ana Diaz. That could be you! Be like Thomas!

$100 - You can put any image on every MinnMax video throughout the month of July by joining the Wall of Heroes. It could be your Twitch handle, business, pet, podcast, face, whatever! This month, folks from the community are rallying to put as many dumb pictures/gifs of JeffM as possible in the slideshow and we highly encourage you to join their crusade. JeffM won't mind. We'll even help you Photoshop something if you have an idea. Here are some examples of their work... please join in!

$300 - You can play any game with you want with a Cohort for an hour, and it'll be nice and stress-free because we won't be streaming it. So far we've played games like Minecraft, Puzzle Fighter, Killer Queen, and StarCraft 2. It's a great time, and we like doing it! It's a fun way to get to know somebody from the community better, so don't be shy.

If any of these options seem temping to you, or you've been enjoying MinnMax's content lately, we'd appreciate the help getting us over this hurdle and hitting the goal. Why not try something new for one month. Also, please message us on Patreon if you're interested in us reading a plug for anything on The MinnMax Show podcast throughout the month of July. We're happy to help.

As always, thanks for supporting independent games media. We hope you're happy with everything that MinnMax creates for you. As always, we're wide open to suggestions and questions you may have about changing your Patreon tier. We're not too far away, and together we can hit the goal and launch the Trek To Shrek!

Plus, we're still trying to pay the bills after Dan Ryckert hijacked Drive-Thru Review for New Show Plus.
