Why is a game like Stellar Blade still rewarded with our attention in 2024? Is there still room for blatant, overt sexualization and gratuitous fetish-wear in gaming? I would venture the Korean devs knew what they were doing, the jiggle-physics-heavy demo is catnip for content creators and even Game Informer apparently -- is this a case of cultural differences? Mentioning Nier: Automata as an inspiration doesn't exactly help, as I would argue 2B is equally problematic (blasphemy, I know). The poor writing and terrible voice acting in that demo didn't exactly help, then again this would largely apply to a game like DmC too, but that's not my gripe here. Seems like two steps back to me, considering all the interesting, strong female game characters of the past: Alloy (Horizon Zero Dawn), Jesse (Control), Selene (Returnal), Amicia (Plague Tale), Saga (Alan Wake 2), Ellie/Abbie (TLOU), Senua (Hellblade), etc. I'll admit I wasn't bothered by Bayonetta back in 2007 but I would now, so this might be a function of time/age too. Is the "Skin Suit" as an excuse for a Hard mode really what we deserve... : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWJJnzlsUx8 Thanks guys.

Hey Minnmax crew! How much time needs to pass before we can consider a game a classic?
