Hey all,

So for those not on the Discord, I've recently made it more apparent that I was shooting for a weekend release--originally Friday/Saturday. Obviously, I'm publishing this today so we're gonna go live with the update tomorrow. I wanted to drop a few thoughts on this update before it actually comes out because I figure not as many people read these text walls after they see the game link. There's kind of a big mix of stuff here and I know we have a lot of new folks around here so here's some pointers as well as reflections on the update and release.

Credit

This update is massive. We've added just under 500 pictures and somewhere around 3,600 lines of code. This is visually the best looking update with images rendered in 4K. You'll also notice that some static images in a few of the scenes now have moving backgrounds. I want to credit both Blayke and Jordyn for their work on these. Blayke had the original prototype images and the vision for this and Jordyn was able to do some subtle Photoshop magic to make my favorite scene in the game really pop. These guys know how important this scene is to me because they've been listening to me talk about it for like a year. Even though I finally finished writing it and did the CGs for it, these guys still were tinkering around behind the scenes to try and think of ways to improve it so that it had more of an impact on me and the game at large so I want to publicly acknowledge this sacrifice and y'all will never hear me stop saying how much it means to me.

Some of you were on the Discord last night when we did some Q & A with Blayke and I. We briefly mentioned that the beach scenes are actually designed from scratch by Lazy Jayke. He designed these using Blender and then I was able to import it into Daz3D to add in the boyz. For the update, we're actually using two different beach scenes, one for the arrival and one that contains the shots closer to the water. We had several activities planned for the beach section and none of the pre-designed packs really checked all the boxes, so Lazy Jayke came to the rescue. So feast your eyes on the custom beach sets and credit goes to Lazy Jayke for all his hard work on the sets.

I also want to draw attention to the last scene in the update that ends with Lazy Jayke's stunning cut-scene animation. This is the beast that he's been working on for...9 months? ( I may be off on that but I want to say that the ending of Chapter 8 was set in stone around March of 2018). Anyway, this scene is built completely from scratch and is not only one of the most stunning moments in the game but also visually insane what he was able to pull off here. The shitty part is that I want to say a million more things about it but I'll let you just see for yourselves. I plan to publish a much more detailed reflection after the update drops so we can come back to this.

Some of you rush through the updates but I'll ask that you slow down a little; take your time going through it and enjoy the pretty shit this one has to offer. There's a lot to unpack in this update. A lot.

But also know this was insane work behind the scenes and I couldn't have done it without these guys. I'm proud of them and I love them for their work, contribution, dedication, selflessness, and just the tireless effort they put into my passion. They're amazing people to work with and the spotlight is plenty big enough for all of us to fit into it.

Update!!

Ok, so enough mushy shit. So update is planned to drop Saturday morning shortly after I wake up and get my coffee going. We're delaying until then so that time zones for the dev team won't kill any of us. I also want to make sure there is tech support available and any questions can be answered to make this shit go smooth. We have a lot more Patreons than we ever had and y'all almost broke the fucking internet when we dropped v0.16. My damn Google Drive went to shit and I think we had to create like 4 mirrors to get everyone through. Hopefully we have a solution to that but I'll ask for some cooperation here:

1. We're going to still release 2 versions (PC and MAC) but there is no full or crunched version anymore. Just one version with consistent image quality that's better than the old  full version--it's just smaller size.

2. Download links: I'm going to ask that you try the MediaFire download link first. We have unlimited downloads on this one. However, for anyone outside of the United States, MediaFire seemed really slow last time so feel free to use the Google Drive one if that applies to you. Google Drive just has limits on it so be polite and don't hog all the downloads if you could easily use MediaFire.

3. If you have problems, the Discord is going to be the fastest tech support line to talk with the dev team. At launch, we will have support on there (or you can just bullshit with us while you wait on the download). Feel free to post on the Patreon too but also understand that I'm the only one that has access to that and usually depend on email alerts to notify me of messages--sometimes they take hours, though.

4. Do not use old saves! There's a big warning with half naked men on the start-up screen about this. If you experience bugs in the game or crashes, it's likely because you used an old save. Please start a new game after you download the update and then follow the red prompts that say "update." This will then ask you two questions: which route (respect vs pervy) as well as if you used MF's trimmer or tried to DIY your own dick shrub. This will activate the previous choices you had and drop you off right at the end of the last episode (right before they get in the car to leave). After than, you're golden.

5. Bugs/Typos: If you run into bugs or typos, you can notify us. Please do not post these in the #Bugs channel on Discord because this is a new update and it could spoil things for the free followers. Your best bet is to actually put them in the v017 spoiler thread on Discord or DM me directly with a screenshot. I don't find this pretentious or annoying. Shit needs fixed anyway so it's actually helpful. I usually have the code open on update days and fix it in real-time as you post it.

6. Last, please don't share the download link. I've humbly asked this in the past because we do release the game for free anyway. I purposely publish the game on f95zone with an account over there once the free version comes out and we also monitor torrent sites (you know which one) for posts on there. The last time the game was pirated, it messed up my concentration for about a month and delayed v016 pretty significantly. The Patreon is simply a way to fund this project. If I had to guess how many man hours went into this update, I'd probably throw out around around 2,000 hours or so... probably more. We do not make millions, I make around $1 an hour on this project if I'm lucky. It costs thousands of dollars to make this, purchase assets, buy hardware components, and keep our lights turned on so we can render shit. So I'll humbly ask that you not distribute the game publicly until after we post the free version--then repost it wherever you want.

That's all, folks.

We appreciate the support and let's all hope this shyt goes smooth tomorrow.
