Junequest 2018 Update | Questions for you! (Patreon)

Just like last year, Junequest is off to a wonderful start! Before June even began, we welcomed 10 new patrons onto the team! I always do my very best to reach out to each and every one of you as you join up - but if you have any questions for me please be sure to contact me directly! I want you time here to be a wonderful experience!

As June finally rolled around, we're up to a total of 15 new patrons! Some of are you are new faces, some are face I recognize, but together we make one great team! Thank you guys again - I couldn't be more thankful.

I will be sending out art rewards today, but while you guys are waiting patiently for art - I'm going to give you guys a chance to answer some questions! It isn't required but your feedback helps me directly!

I'm eager to see how we can improve what I do around here. There's no better place for feedback than from the source - you guys!

So, I'd super appreciate a response in the comments with your answers to these questions! Speak your mind, I'd love to hear your opinions!

I feel that what you do currently is enough, but that is my two cents. You work supremely hard as it is and you churn out a lot of great art, regardless if it's a sketch or a full painting. You pour your heart into each and every piece, and the quality of your art shows this, as does your growth. It's honestly amazing how much you grow on a month-to-month basis, but, it's also very heartening and a joy to see. So, I think what you've got going on in terms of rewards and such is perfectly fine. <3

I initially started following you on Twitter because someone retweeted a contest you were having and I thought your art was beautiful and I figured why not. Then you posted about being super close on Patreon and once again figured why not a joined (obviously the best decision I ever made) As far as the content goes I think it’s great, you post the art you’re creating and you keep us up to date despite being as busy as you are! Maybe as you see the patreon grow some WIP updates etc might be cool (though I don’t know how you feel about this) My thoughts on rewards, it’s quite obvious that discord is the most used and we all love it....sometimes I forget to download my other stuff (actually a lot....I need to fix this) my only suggestion is maybe once every few months you could do a drawing for sketch or print for patreons.....it could even be exclusive for specific tiers or for all patreons. Could even be multiple things as the Patreon grows over time. As of right now this is my only idea ☺️ And of course I am always suggesting you to anyone I can because I just love your art and think you are just a wonderful person! I’m so excited to this growing!!! ♥️♥️♥️

Thanks so much for your feedback Wolfie! I think a patron exclusive art piece would be great - do you think a poll would work best for this or a suggestion box? I can definitely try and share more WIP updates on larger pieces - this has def been asked for before but it is a matter of availability if time - but most of the sketches are done in a day so there's not much WIP there! I'll see what I can do ^^ Appreciate you being a part of the team!!

I think a poll would probably be the easiest. You come up with a few ideas and then everyone votes on their favorite. Otherwise I think it would end up with a lot of suggestions and no solid answer. And maybe the runner up can be put into the next poll as a second chance or something.

Hello, here is my 2 copper's worth. What inspired me to sign up, follow on Twitter, I really loved your art and the style you have, also you seemed very kind and I love to be a small help in supporting creativity and kindness. The content I have not explored too much (work is a pain) but I love what I have seen. Rewards, like Wolfie said maybe a drawing or something for a drawing would be amazing ! I am going to share my happiness with some friends. I think the Discord is HUGE. So many talented and friendly people, supportive of one another and its such a wonderful thing to see. I think that part alone would be a boon for anyone who either likes or is into anything creative, writing, drawing, etc. I hope this was helpful and not too wordy.

What was it that inspired you to sign up? I love Starcall and what you have created. The community is amazing and I am so proud to support it. Are there any additional rewards you would like to see? I would love to see more art. But that’s what’s Junequest is going to give me!;) Are you willing to share your experience here with just one friend who may be eager to become a patron? ✦ What was it that inspired you to sign up? The overall project has been just such a generous and positive thing, I felt like I wanted to contribute. Everyone on Discord has been so friendly and helpful, when I saw your goals for June, I had to become more involved. ✦ What do you think we could do to most improve the content of my patreon? As a complete newb artist interested in learning how to draw, I'd love to see more tutorials and Q&A type stuff where experienced artists help the newbs. I tried asking something along these lines when I first joined the Discord, and I was directed to the forums. I posted in the forums, and that post has gone unanswered for like 4 weeks now. The forums don't seem to get much traffic. ✦ Are there any additional rewards you would like to see? Maybe minimum one colored piece per month? I realize there will be more pieces if they are black and white. Not a complaint, just a thought. :) ✦ Are you willing to share your experience here with just one friend who may be eager to become a patron? Yes, I've been spreading the word on Twitter and will continue to do so!

What inspired me to sign up - I love everything that you're setting out to achieve with Starcall. It's all because of you that I found this welcoming, loving community, so I wanted to give something back to you to show my appreciation. What do you think we could do to most improve the content of my patreon? - I was actually going to make the same suggestions as wolfie with regards to progress shots shots or Patreon-exclusive artwork determined by polls, so I'm just going to gesturepoint at her comment instead. Are there any additional rewards you would like to see? - In addition to the above, Patron-exclusive art livestreams might be really fun! Once you're in a location that lends itself to streaming again, of course. Something like once a month, so they don't infringe on your normal streaming schedule. Are you willing to share your experience here with just one friend who may be eager to become a patron? - Yes, 100%! I've been plugging Starcall and your Patreon to people on my social media accounts whenever I can. It's so great to see your following grow like this, and I hope to see it grow more over the rest of the month and further in the future. You've come such a long way, and it's fantastic. <3

Hey Jaspor! Really glad to have you along for the ride - so happy that you were inspired to help out! Starcall is a precious thing to me and I can't wait to see what you cook up during your time with us and as you progress in your learning! Q&A stuff could totally be doable! As of right now, tutorials might be a bit of stretch in terms of my time but nothing is ever out of the question. Instead, I had considered doing mentorship and critiques since these tend to target EXACTLY what you guys are looking for instead of just making tutorials that I'm not sure end up being useful! We shall see! If you check out previous rewards, you'll see that ordinarily I am painting full colored pieces all the time! Last month was a work month as well as a small break for me in terms of personal projects. Thank you for your feedback and spreading the word! <3

Thanks for your suggestions, I will keep them in mind! In terms of streaming, I so badly want to get back to that, but we've been in such a rough spot. Maybe at the very least, I can try to finagle something once a month just for patrons. It would be much more doable than multiple times a month. Thanks for all of your support Claret! <3
