Design Diary #029 - The Moving Image (Patreon)

Hello Peeps

I am working on the companion release to V0.40 at the moment and it is going to be very interesting in different ways, In the last release I expanded on the repeatable timeskip function with some specific option. You could think I was going to talk about this feature given the title of this post but that is not the case. I am going to talk about another small feature going into V0.45.

When I started out using Adrift I played around with what was possible on the platform. That included using animated Images. Back then I could not get it to work and I could not find any support on the forums for it. I didn't really try that hard and just settled on the images you have grown used to.

Well something did change since then. Either one of the Adrift updates expanded support and I missed it or I tested the wrong image formats but after some more testing I have got it to work now.  Going into the next release will be the first handful of animated images in select events. 

It will be optional. You can disable them if you would rather keep the normal design.

It will only be 1 or 2 pr. scene and most likely only in repeatable content. I have added them to the hardcore StepUps starting out.

The reason for this is due to the size and work required to add them. They still have to fit the image restrictions for the game while not expanding the download size too much.

I will post a preview on the Discord to give you an idea of how it would look ingame.
