I knew things would start to go down hill after that court case. I mean things had already been shakey but this is just getting ridiculous.

So with the assistance of a friend explaining it to me, let me see if I can explain this using some modified quotations from them.

'If someone in the US pledges to me in Dollars, the currency gets converted to GBP. That conversion process takes 2.5% of their money, so I would be getting however much I get from their pledge, -2.5%. I believe It wouldn't cost anything extra for the Patron but it will mean I get less money out of it.

In addition, we all know that money doesn't have the same exact value every year

So whenever that changes, which they base on a 6 - 12 month period, whenever someone new shows up after it's changed, they then pay THAT new amount, existing patrons won't have to though, only new Patrons. Basically if it goes up or down, they're either paying more or less for the same exact tier as everyone else.

So as an example, the tier is $5 but converts to £4. The following year the value of the dollar could change, so the $5 tier is now £6.'

I mean it sounds like stocks or something. This just sounds like a very dumb move overall.

My information isn't absolutely solid though. I think this is going to negatively impact both creator and patron.
