Content

This has been deep in my thoughts for the past week, and after going through all of today's DM refunds, and a few messages, I'll make this post to get your input and take it into consideration.

Regardless of what I'm going through, FOT is still a business. Yes, I am a human being, but it's this business that supported my family continually during COVID, and it's this business that I'm counting on to help make my dreams come true. So I truly owe this business a lot.

Continually being a disappointment to folks is not what I want. Nor should I be putting out content while I need to be fixing both myself and the business.

While the weekly basis schedule would be good for me, what makes the most sense seems to be going back to the OLD OLD system--a monthly schedule of everything I filmed the month previous. No promises, no chasing. That's what is best for YOU ALL.

That way people can still just decide at the beginning of the month if they want to pledge or not.

So in order to meet in the middle, the only change will have to be that if I didn't film enough content the month previous, I just take a break the next month from publishing on Patreon. It'll allow me to focus more on YouTube as well as catching up on any administrative work.

The rule I hold for myself and this Patreon is to automatically take the month off if I don't have the prefilmed content ready.

What I'm saying is: I will take March off to film content. I will be working both on my mental health but also prdfilming everything, not taking a "break" (aka time off from not filming), and I'll still be posting daily communicating with my fans who support me the individual.

You only pledge and stay on the Patreon if you want to support me so I can pay bills, but if you're here solely for content--take the month off. But for whatever reason I can't film enough in March, I won't post in April either. I am proposing that I will just not come back until I actually have everything ready. But of course the hope is to be back by April.

I've been too scared to take time off to prefilm content and be ahead, but those are my problems--not yours. There's no denying that both me, Blaire, and you all were a lot happier when I was a month ahead on content and things were coming out on auto-pilot.

Currently, I've now finished uploading all the drama club content and also nearly finished my taxes.  My goal is to finish the backlog FIRST and then get back to filming. I am thinking of purely just filming in March, not release anything, take my time, and also livestream and communicate with my personal fans, as I prepare to bring my business back into a proper and presentable place.

I still plan to post everyday and communicate with my fans because it keeps me present but it also keeps me accountable. Of course, these are all just my ruminating thoughts, I'd like to know your thoughts on the matter and take them into consideration.

This is honestly not even disappointing at this point(( It’s getting old and tiring. I’m always trying to be patient and understanding But I think you don’t realise, PD, how privileged you are to have this as a job and to earn that much money from just watching enjoyable content We use K-pop and variety shows to actually mentally rest after work, but this IS your work If you have hard time to do this as a job than I don’t think you would ever survive at a regular job Imagine if we will work diligently only 1/3 of the month and find excuses not to work for the rest of the month ? We would be kicked out asap, no one need a worker like that For how much we pay, you cannot slack off and should stick to the schedule like every other person do at their job I thought it is obvious but I don’t think you get it While you do your meditations I would recommend to also think about how lucky you are to have this audience and this job and not take it for granted because you are already loosing a lot of regular subscribers

This place is slowly becoming “Form of Frustration” for us and it is sad

last time you said you were prefilming content was November and then December was an entire mess. If you need a break that’s fine and I think most of us can understand but take a real break. Leave for 3 months and then come back when you’ve either prefilmed a whole bunch of stuff or feel totally ready and prepared. This is your business and businesses don’t thrive when they go off and on this frequently. It seems like you’re trapped in a cycle of figuring out what schedule and mode of balance works for you but i think that’s something that needs to be figured out not at the expense of peoples money. I know we’ve been given refunds but a good business is not one that has to issues hundreds of refunds monthly. I completely understand that life has been tough for you guys but if you need to focus on yourself choose to do that instead of coming back and forth and changing things monthly

we can tell how much kpop means to you and how many future goals you have regarding it, but I think it’s also important be realistic about what you can and cannot do. Is patreon something feasible for you anymore? Is it something you can keep up with by yourself while Blaire is away? I think these are important questions to ask yourself! Again, I know you’ve said you’re a people pleaser, but at the end of the day you need to be able to decide what can and cannot be done. Even if that’s just making this channel into a: there is no schedule, i’ll release when I release so you choose if that’s worth paying for type of situation. There’s plenty of reactors that don’t have schedules and just announce when new things are out. Sorry for the rambling, I just think it’s time to really think about how realistic these goals are for you. Put yourself first even if that means taking a long term break from posting on here

I think what you should do is meet in the middle. Take March to pre-film two months-worth of content and to make a schedule of releases and fix the backlog. Then last day of March drop the schedule for both April and May. Take April off completely as a re-set while having the relief of pre-scheduled content, and then May you come back to pre-film your next-month’s content and get back into the month ahead schedule. You can do bonus drops here and there, but I’d set a personal limit of maybe like two or three a month MAX. That way, if there’s something you want to watch or a cb you don’t want to miss, then you have the space but also don’t fall back into the content hole. And lastly, commit to testing this for the entire year. If it truly doesn’t work, then change it up again in January.
