That first take was awesome, as your reaction. Hope you’re doing other first take, they are so great !

Never watched naruto but even I’ve heard of them and seen this first take going around

this caught me off guard lol, you got me nostalgic with this one, naruto was my first shonen and the second anime i watched in my life (?) in cartoon network haha. i can see where your thought of anime music rn not hitting like back in the day comes from but, i have to disagree, there's a lot of recent animes with great music as well, it's just that narutos soundtrack is probably one of the best and most consistent out there. i truly believe that there is not a single bad naruto opening😭 like damn

There is a first take of the first One Piece opening We Are! Got me emotional. And another Naruto opening song Blue Bird too.

It’s actually the first opening of Naruto Shippūden, that’s why the iconic line: “The rising tide of cheers will give me courage. Getting back up this time will be tougher than ever” hits so well, because before Shippūden there was a small break after the “regular” Naruto series. That’s why the title “Hero’s Come Back!!” have a deeper meaning. Anime openings were my intro into Japanese music scene as well. Regarding your statement of nowadays openings don’t hit so hard… I would say the option of a skip button on VOD platforms or streaming sites in general plays a big role. Before on TV you simply “had to wait”, nowadays lot of people just skip it (this goes obviously with watching any show not just anime), so because of that it started to be “less important”, although I would still say anime openings are still doing good compared to other shows. I mean… which TV show these days has a intro like I’ll Be There For You (Friends)? Also I would say that the concept of having “short/TV versions” of a song and then the full versions might happen in the future and its music scene globally. But not because of TV shows but because of how songs are getting shorter and shorter, so I wouldn’t be surprised if US artists started to do “90 seconds version” and then provide the full version for those “old school listeners” 😅😅 We can see something similar already happening that artists release sped up versions…

Oh wow. You’re right! I forgot that I stopped the anime at Shippuden and started binging the manga. And your theory about the future… I don’t know how to feel about that. I don’t want to hate it and learn to adapt but… 🤔 idk. You just gave me some real food for thought

Pleaseeeee give me some good anime theme song recs that basically is not Demon Slayer! I’d love to even react to a bunch of OP even if it’s anime I don’t watch.

Great throwback! I never finished Naruto shippuden but they had some really cool themes, my personal being Mezamero Yasei. Anime openings and ending themes and osts are some of my favorite music especially early-mid 2000s. Ive been going back to TM revolution a lot lately for the music he did for Gundam

Not who you asked, but The First Take has a playlist of full length anisong performances if you just wanna listen to music. I was super pleased to find that some artists did their "older" songs (if 5+ years counts as old) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeLvSt3A0Ddlq1nbf88PpdPzEkWN5T_bb Some of my favs on that playlist from a variety of genres: Aoi Shiori, aLIEz, Some Like It Hot, Sekai wa Koi ni Ochiteiru, Raise Your Flag Now, if we are talking visually interesting OP/EDs with good direction, this list could go on for a looooong time...
