I had never heard of this show before until now and on that note, I obviously did not know what it was about. I looked it up and saw that it was a thriller. I personally am not a fan of horror or thriller shows or really anything that has to do with those genres. However, this first episode really piqued my interest and got me so hyped despite what I just said about thriller shows. I have said this before about how I really love your deep analysis after everything you react to but especially here, your ability to analyze on such a deep level really helped (set in stone) my desire to continue watching this show with you without being doubtful (or I guess a better word would be "regretful") just because it happens to be a thriller.

What I like also is that the show seems to embrace the “hysterical” woman trope (especially compared to the ML’s calm attitude) and show that yes, a woman can get angry and can go over the board and its okay, but you also have the contrast of the judge who’s more rational. Showing this difference and that a woman can be in a position of power is really cool. The mother plays a big role too in demonstrating that a woman can be strong and protect her loved ones. They don’t shove the feminism down your throat (though I agree is and was a necessary step when it first began to be a big part of American TV shows, movies and general mainstream media) which nowadays, with all the feminist content out there, tends to draw some people away. It’s subtle and is shown through actions and not through a big speech about inequalities (and were lucky that were now able to get to that point), but the message is still there. That was a big rant, but I just really like this show, or at least that first episode, and thank you for the people who recommended it. On another note, I also got weird vibes from the judge because of what you’ve said about why he would be in the courtroom. Another clue to me is that when they called out her name and told everybody to stand up, he looked reluctant to do it and took his time. Or maybe I’m reaching here and this could just be him being a nonchalant character who does not care for general authority. Also why would she refuse to get to a higher position as a supreme court judge, there’s got to be a reason behind that.

Since you're re-introducing kdramas, I truly hope The Glory is on your to-watch list, it is easily in the top 5 shows I have ever watched. Netflix's short description: "Years after surviving horrific abuse in high school, a woman puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes". Impeccable writing, and it's *incredibly* satisfying as the story gets closer to the end. Literally no one is safe from Dong-eun's (Song Hye-kyo) vengeance, and I LOVE IT.
