127 is so interesting to me, definitely the college friends comparison is apt. But then in some contents they are closer and much clingier. They also have all these inside jokes that we only find about like 3 year later lol. Also I feel like they kinda hangout in clusters.

The only other group that gives me the same energy as nct 127's relationship dynamic is girls generation. They're close and really care about each other, but there's a fundamental understanding that being idols is their occupation and they work together. For some reason people look down on groups who don't have a sibling dynamic, but I honestly find it refreshing at times

Taeyong does have his own YouTube channel but he doesn't post super often. I guess some videos on there would be a good way to get to know him better! https://www.youtube.com/@TAEYONG/videos However, what first came to mind, were his vlives that he used to do from his bedroom about 2ish years ago. Besides the regular fun vlive stuff where he showed off his goofiness and cuteness, he also often shared advice and his outlook on life. I really really like his mindset! There would always be something comforting to come out of those vlives <3

As someone who's stanned SHINee since 2012, 127 gives me a very similar vibe. I remember fighting for my life in the trenches of the OneHallyu forum defending SHINee's dynamic just because they weren't on top of each other or speaking over each other all the time - and hah who gets the last laugh 11 yrs later. Plus, personally as someone who's best friends are the groupmates I wrote a thesis with in college, drawing the line between work and play is one of the hardest things you can do.

They call what Taeil did at the end there “Taeils butterfly”, it’s been an ongoing thing for a few years and occasionally appears in different contents hahah. For example in their idol human theatre video Johnny described the members as “friends/family”. I think it’s really easier to understand their relationships the more you watch their different kinds of contents. You’ll see that they also have certain pairings that go especially well together. For example Taeyong and Doyoung, seeing how they support and care for each other was one aspect that made them my biases. Mark and Jungwoo are also two who seem to stick together a lot. Like you said Taeyongs personality could be a bit unexpected if you’ve mostly seen him in their performances. He really has a very cute personality, he’s really caring and is always willing to help the other members, like when he lost in the first episode but still went to help Mark. Taeyong has his own YouTube channel with vlogs and performance videos, you should check it out! I think to understand NCT127 you have to know 1 thing. I feel like they are one of the most private Groups out there. For example, they have inside jokes with each other that they just never explained or it took years even with Fans and MCs asking just because they simply didn't want to. I also think they are pretty real with Czennie, especially telling us when shit we do is not okay, calling out Sasaengs and being pretty honest in general. I think the boundaries are less between the Members and more between the Audience (US)and them. If they aren't in a giving mood on a day, they will be respectful but they won't play along.

Exactly, I think this seems accurate. I also think they don’t feel like they have to act a certain way for the sake of entertainment, just because they’re on camera

Even though the members now have their own rooms, you can see the bond between old roommate pairings like jungwoo/jaehyun, Johnny/haechan, yuta/taeil. I feel like the 127 and nct2020 relay cams were the most public about their personal lives.

i love how NCT call out their sasaengs and even the fans on things. Like, they remind me of EXO as in they take no shit with 'fans' and will express even on their faces with things they may not be allowed to say. I wish other groups did that more cause it's getting out of hand.
