I liked Zoom the best in this album. Also PD you might be feeling quite high after just listening to this album, but red velvet b-sides were always this good. Re listening to some b-side may give you more appreciation for their older songs with your newer perspective on music. Vocal techniques obviously improve over time, but their songs really keep their quality over time.

I honestly wasn't into Birthday that much, the song is decent BUT it literally made it into my playlist because of pre-chorus ALONE. It's so damn good, it makes the whole for me. B-sides I like Bye Bye and On A Ride but I've been listening to RV for so many years now that there's a whole lot of other b-sides from them that I prefer, not my favorite mini of all time but it's good, RV never really misses there's always a few gems in their EPs. Also, I still say Wendy is literally THE BEST vocalist in kpop AND I dare even say ONE of the best in the world too, nothing can change my mind.

Wendy bias wrecked me in this ep particularly SO HARD. Seulgi is in danger now but at least she released her solo album, so she's still safe lol

Since you loved Zoom and the villain type style so much, you should give SNSD's album a shot and listen to their bside Villain. Same vibe and as amazing as Zoom! I really hope Blaire gives the previous albums a shot, since their are as amazing as this one to me. This album just showed perfectly all the different sides of Red Velvet that make their discography one of the best and most distict in K-Pop imo. Which also leads me to something I really wanted to see on this channel for so long: Red Velvet variety. They are one of the funniest and most chaotic groups and it would be amazing to see you check out something like their reality show Level Up Project, which just got it's 5th season a few months ago.

Also PD I dare you to listen to the Ice Cream Cake album, it mostly sounds nothing like the title track and is actually pretty rnb and velvet heavy. i think you would enjoy it

I feel like this might be controversial but I really don’t think it’s such a hot take that Red Velvet was able to best Psycho 😅. Like don’t get me wrong, Psycho is Psycho but I feel like people have turned it into THE standard of RV’s music when it’s really not. RV HAS no standard, they’re always trying something new so honestly yea, Birthday and all the EP’s ARE better than Psycho 😅 (also can’t believe this is only a MINI album, imagine how good a full RV3 album would be).

tbh it makes sense since queendom fell flat (to me and many others, i haven't watched pd's reaction of it yet) and feel my rhythm was really good but maybe not as good as psycho to others, i personally felt it was just too different to compare, so i think psycho is just an... untouched crown. but now that red velvet is being more consistent in terms of cbs, psycho is now being dethroned. which makes sense since i feel like every top red velvet song is always dethroned at one point or another since they always one-up themselves.

definitely. most of the songs are like softer versions of celebrate and prettier versions of automatic. the only song KINDA close to ice cream cake is stupid cupid but even then … still quite different. my favourite is take it slow from that album.

I loved this reaction! It's an amazing album, I was also a RV title track listener until becoming obsessed with Feel My Rhythm and that whole album earlier this year, and I love this one so much!! As an aside - you said you've never listened to Onew's solo stuff, I would love to see you react to his DICE album from earlier this year, I was obsessed and in love with it, 3 of the songs were in my top 10 spotify wrapped this year! I have a feeling you may have a similar feeling with him as you had previously with Taeyeon where you weren't a fan of the ballads etc. and same, and I was SO surprised and in love with DICE and I think you would be too :)

i didn't enjoy RV's last two albums, so this was such a wonderful surprise! On a Ride is so addictive! with Celebrate, they're my favourite songs on the album. as you were reading what Onew song he produced, In the whale immediately came to mind! His album DICE is also incredible - i highly recommend it!
