first of all, i would like to thank mothers f(x) and loona, without them we would've never had songs like boom and passionfruit today🙏lol. on a more serious note, this album is so untouchable, i agree with everything u said, this literally brought me back into giving more chances to albums, it doesn't matter which artist, kpop non kpop, this project was a cultural reset for me lmao, i'm glad u liked it! some songs really made me go back in time to the emotions i went through when i first got into kpop, idk WHY, i guess nmixx is just built different

This was my most long-awaited video from you, PD. It took some time, but it was worth the wait. Fantastic reactions. Your explanations of the songs: “sparkly” “warm” and so on are SPOT ON. Also, you’re pretty much spot on with differentiating between voices. “Is this Jiwoo?” etc. You were right on all of them!

The Jiwoo appreciation is so nice to hear! Jiwoo was definitely underrated this album. Her voice is vital to these songs. She adds this interesting, almost funky element to the songs. Her vocals in Passionfruit was definitely my favourite. The producers did all of their voices justice. It was an amazing album.

Pure girl group excellence. I loved it all from first listen but it has also grown on me somehow with every listen. It along with Itzy’s and Xiker’s albums are my top listens this year without a doubt, and it’s gonna take a seriously crazy album and cb to top them. NMIXX is in their stride

Reactors usually listen to the 4 unheard songs in the album, now that I think about it, with all 7 of the tracks, the album is really stacked. I agree each song could be a lead single! My favorite is Boom, Dash and Xoxo

🤔🤔 (About NMixx being built different). I personally have always been really casual listener of JYP artists’ music. I guess Wonder Girls would be my favorite ones, but still… I wasn’t any kind of super fan… But with Stray Kids, I started to pay attention to JYP way more and with NMixx I feel like they could have been the “female version” of them. Well… I might never fully get over Jini not being there, but this album really makes me think they could be great even without a crucial member like her.

This was a personal big debate for me. It would save me more time to skip the “songs I’ve heard already”, in fact that’s how I USED to do listening parties. But as I’m trying to figure out what I truly want in terms of both reactions and Patreon, I really really think there’s no point in doing a listening party if I skip the lead singles. An album is a holistic product and in theory, should essentially form a great overall listening experience. How the holistic experience feels, whether it’s a steady stream or just random placements tacked together, I think is also VERY important to a group and signals the quality and the handling of their careers.

JIWOO really is filling this “Han Jisung” from Stray Kids vibe in this group for me. Mind you, Han is… I see him much differently, he seems like a walking Einstein/genius, but it’s the “EFFECT” he has on you? Jiwoo’s doin’ that for me.

Damn. I think I LOVE JIWOO. Like, BAE and HAEWON makes me lose my mind with just their INSANE vocal tone but Jiwoo’s voice is so ear catching in such a different way. If the members create a beautiful flow, it feels like Jiwoo adds like a jolt of electricity. It’s such a fantastic contrast yet compliment to their songs that I think, personally? Just ups their overall quality.

OK so I saw your comment and listened to these back to back—made me realize I haven’t heard 24HRS in agessss. And I agree with your sentiment. It’s like a spiritual successor, certain Jiwoo lines remind me of Yuna’s parts. I think it’s the case of the times and progress of times. 1) NMIXX is the new generation and their sunbaes ran so they could fly you know? And they’re so clearly influenced and trained in all the groups since then like NCT, SKZ, and more. And 2) I think the expansion of more American producers in K-Pop has been the best thing. It’s way weirder, it’s way more experimental and boundary pushing. If Korean producers were pushing boundaries before, it definitely became “formulaic”, and American producers often note how working in K-Pop was very freeing in terms of creativity and you can hear that they’re just having fun now. And the cross over of Korean producers and American producers shaking hands now is causing honestly the most refined era of music ever (in my opinion that is).

This is definitely a contender for album of the year in my book. For me, Nmixx really showed what they have to deliver to the kpop scene with this album and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. All the members shone in all the songs, adding their personal flavours to each track and making a phenomenal album. I can't wait to see what they will do next. And thank you for the reaction! I have been waiting for this 😌
