"Why wouldn't they just kill him?" guys he regenerates whenever he's killed. Then once he's changed he can basically repair himself for the next 12 hours while going through the process (alá David Tennant's regrowing hand) so they'd basically be ensuring their plan doesn't work. That's why it's smart they mentioned the Pandorica as the perfect prison literally forces you to stay alive, because if he died while inside it the regeneration energy would surely blow up the box allowing him to escape etc.

Yes, that painting is on SO MUCH merch.

The Pandorica speech is what made me fall in love with Matt Smith's doctor. Definitely one of the all time best moments of the show.

Yup, I had the poster of the exploding TARDIS on my dorm wall in college. It’s basically how I made friends as a freshman. Anyone who knew Doctor Who would comment on it (or my various other DW merch. When the 50th anniversary special aired we even threw a Doctor Who watch party. I’m so hyped for y’all to watch the next episode but I can’t say anything! ...just be ready for a mind fuck 😄😄 It’s about to get wibbly wobbly!

Clarifications. As you’ve mentioned him a few times this is just to make you aware for the future, John Lumic is dead and gone, you postulated his return in season 4 before the Davros Reveal (understandable as you had not met Davros at that point) and again mentioned it in this reaction, this is impossible for two reasons in particular those being, he fell from a cybus blimp into an exploding building from a great height so it’s likely he died, secondly even if he had survived he would still be trapped on Petes world (the one that rose is stuck on) that storyline is finished so going forward any cybermen you see are not associated with the parallel universe cybus industries and are the original cyber men from our universe. The only other Cybus cybermen you see apart from those in season 2 are those in “the Next Doctor” as they fell through the rift during the Doomsday events and ended up in the time vortex using Dalek technology to travel through it (which the doctor follows to London and then the events of that episode occur) Second the Romans are not cybermen, they are Autons, you’ve seen these before (shop dummies that came to life in season one episode one “rose” they are also seen in Classic who a bit) but yeah the Romans in this episode are all Autons so they at a basic level are plastic robots. Also as for why they left and came back again I’ve always put it down to the fact they needed the doctor to believe in the story and that he was winning and to keep him with the pandorica whilst it was opening so that they could spring their trap and put him in it so they feigned a retreat to give him false security, similarly the Pandorica let’s out a loud noise when it is about to open which activates the Autons, it stands to reason that this noise also served as a notification that the pandorica was about to finish opening to the rest of the aliens hence why they arrived pretty much immediately after the noise occurred. I think that kinda covers most queries unless I’ve missed something?

I have a jigsaw of that painting which I think if memory serves me correctly is 1000 pieces, it’s a pain in the arse but once I find it again I’m gonna build it and invest in some puzzle glue and a frame and put it on one of my walls

Absolutely love this two parter. You were so convinced the whole Rory thing was a huge gaping plot hole, whereas actually it was a clue. I always assumed that the Pandorica started unlocking when the Doctor first touched it. It just took a long time for it to unlock so the Doctor did not connect the dots. As for all the various bad guys staying away, I saw it in two ways - 1. his challenge to let someone else go first (in the end, the Autons made the first move), or 2. They were in no particular hurry so long as the Doctor stayed there until the Pandorica was ready. I'm not sure I understand Greg's issue with the word "mislead". I think it was. The whole episode was leading you to believe there was something in the Pandorica whereas the truth was that they were going to put something in there. I would say that is precisely what a mislead is. A "reveal" would be simply what sort of monster was in there. Stonehenge used to be fully open to the public (i.e. you could go among the stones and touch them). Nowadays, like you say, there is a perimeter set up. There is a barrier so that visiting public can only circle the stones at a distance (too many people trampling the ground and touching the stones was causing terrible damage). And yes, you do have to pay! It's a national monument owned by the Crown, and the access money goes to the English Heritage / National Trust who have responsibility for maintaining and preserving. They open it up for full access once a year for druids celebrating equinox or solstice or some bullshit. I was fortunate enough to visit it as a kid, at which time full access was still allowed, so I've had even more access than Matt and Karen!
