Every reactor I've seen react to this episode, complains that Amy doesn't say anything about the speck and dust but it's because the weeping angel has a low level perception filter and is stopping her from telling anyone else. I know its a common horror trope that people don't mention important issues and the perception filter isn't explained until near the end.

You asked at the end whether this story was mapped out last season or not, to an extent it was, at the time David had not yet decided whether he was going to stay on for season 5 or not so if he had then this adventure would be with him, obviously he ended up leaving and so it’s now with Eleven instead, so they knew that they were going to do a story about the crash of the Byzantium but to what extent the actual plot of the story was mapped out I’m not 100% sure.

River! Angels! Woo hoo! I was one of the people to suffer from that banner ad at the time. While the music was ramping up and the Doctor was making this incredibly exciting speech, we had this stupid banner appear at the bottom advertising the next programme. Talk about ruining the atmosphere! Grrrrrrr!! When River first meets the Doctor she is not going to be under any pressure to mould him or anything. She won’t know him. And River and the Doctor try to avoid spoilers - that’s why she keeps a diary. Their timelines are more or less going in reverse. First time he met her was the last time for her. Oh, and those shoes were fierce! I’d never be able to walk in those.
