Just a silly one, but I've been meaning to make this video for years now, but I always forget until it's too late! And it's probably too late for this year! Or perhaps it's just fantastically early for next year.

Also- I guess I didn't mention in the video, but ideally you'd be using real pumpkins. Or whatever you wanted.

As long as we have a projector hooked up to blender, it'd be fun to mess around more with projection stuff in the near future!

I'd love to see more projection mapping stuff in the future! I've seen some really cool tiktoks where people will create a fake window on their wall or create animated paintings/wall art and I'd love to see the creative process and workflow that would go into making something like this!

this video is very nostalgic because its like the return of the mysterious "lazy tutorials man"

Ha ha ! Very funny one. It's good to see you dealing with drivers. It's a really useful and powerful tool in Blender. Actually I made a short video a few time ago to recreate the MapRange function in driver's expressions. (Recorded in french but with english subtitles). Can be a bit boring since it's mainly about math and scripting but if you jump into the end of the video at 9:05 you'll can see that drivers have f-Curve that can be used to remape and limit values returned by the expression. https://youtu.be/oBz2bwSZ7Pk?si=8XfuIFoE45hcD0YA "Happy Halloween to you Ian !" Friendly, Simon.

Pretty please do some projection mapping shenanigans!

With face rigs like this, you could also use rotation and scale drivers, then you don’t have to switch objects to control the eyes. Or for example the angry face, instead of activating it by moving above 2 you could drive it with the scale.

Oh, and I've seen people using a text object with geometry nodes to control things with the keyboard! The geonodes just read the last letter typed, so you could move things with the mouse and talk with spacebar. Or even make phonemes.

This is awesome. I’m wondering if you could somewhat automate the animation using “Bake Sound to F-Curve” - super fun video. Thank you!
