Sort of a sister video to the recent Boat Modeling video.

Mostly uploading this because it could be the first in a sort of series, putting this whole environment together, and some of the world-building planning and all that (also some folks asked for me to upload it last month, so here we go!)

Oh! And here's the Optimizing Cycles Renders video I mentioned.

you just made me SO happy Ian. I LOVE watching these long modeling tutorials. You don't happen to have a tutorial in your back pocket of modeling that cool entertainment console thing in the cab video from last week???

the best book on cooking is '4 hour chef' by Tim Ferriss. It's more of a book about learning, about chopping the basics down to learnable chunks and getting to 90% skill level in a methodical way.

Cool Ian, love watching these videos! What camera settings were you using on that render? I can never get the K1, K2 dialed in right

It's always inspiring to see you gradually make a great scene appear from thin air: just so you know, I would gladly watch hours of videos of you modeling stuff, solving problems and talking. So cool!

If you want to not select the volume accidentaly, you can open the object properties > Viewport display > Display as wire. That way you have to click the edges of the cube to select, while the faces are unselectable.
