I called this a "Tugboat Spaceship" on twitter, but it's actually for converting any previously seafairing vehicles into airships at a transdimensional interchange.

Sorta like that.

Soooo for the past year I've worked pretty hard to make any assets I upload fairly user-friendly and optimized. Most of my actual production files are fairly messy, though; lots of greebles maybe containing materials slots that aren't even implemented, lack of clear rigs, stuff like that-

HOWEVER, I have uploaded a few of those messy sure-here-it-is files, and they tend to actually be the ones people use the most? So I figure maybe I should get off my high horse and upload the messy files and folks can dig through them if they want?

Controls:
Everything is eventually parented to the big cubic empty surrounding the ship.

Bender Version (recommended!)

Here's an FBX version (but even moreso than usual I had to hack at the textures to make it work in FBX- use the blender version if you can)

This looks really cool! I see a lot of cool shapes and stuff that get some gears turning for some cool ideas.

The turquise/ blue really makes it pop 😁 Personally I don't mind messy files👍

Yeah, for real, doesnt matter if the files are messy.

Thanks Ian! Very happy to look at the ‘messy’ files so I can try to pick your brain on how on Earth you create such great things!

WHAT? Lots of greebles maybe containing materials slots that aren't even implemented? Lack of CLEAR rigs? PREPOSTEROUS! I'm out!

Thanks Ian! it's incredibly helpful to see how someone like you puts together the amazing things you create.

Just gives us more materials to use. We probably won't be using the exact object in our renders.

These type of projects, he's not giving for us to use them. Some people like me who likes to learn practically or by tearing everything down part by part, these types of projects are just great. It doesn't matter if its messy or not. We all could be messy when we work on something that's completely complicated.

I don't know quite if this is the right place to ask, but I absolutely ADORE the music from the train sequence of the first episode of Dynamo Dream, which... if I read the end credits correctly, is called "(Every train is a) Train to the Future" by Ian himself :D In any case. Is there any chance that there'll ever be a soundtrack, or a release of just the background music? :o I tried to find it before asking, but I couldn't find anything :(
