So I make lots of cyberpunk work, and maybe you join the patreon like "yeah alright let's cyber-go" and instead I just do nature photoscans forever- but hot damn sometimes you how to follow your momentum (Alsoooo look an appreciation of nature's shenanigans is going to legit help your cyberpunk sensibilities (look at the vine distribution in these images- so cyberpunk). Nature's fantastically good at balancing that whole big/small - positive/negative situation.

Also look if I do enough scans on a hike I think perhaps the gas is tax deductible??? And perhaps even the snacks?

Anyways! These guys go really well with the plant library pack! Again I've tried to make them as small as possible geometry/texture wise so you can use a ton of them in a scene without bogging stuff down, but that means they're not great for closeups.

Is Ian God? Wait this isn't google.

Amazing assets, as always. This is the best Patreon I’ve ever subscribed to. Thanks Ian!

Your timing is fantastic 👌🏻👌🏻 thank you so much!

Patrick Lever

Ian bro just do what you do ! Love all the stuff you post cyberpunk nature doesn't matter 🤩🙏🏾

Anonymous

Awesome, thanks so much :) Would still *kill* for a run through how you use your Rokoko suit :)

Anonymous

Love your work. Anything you create is great. Keep sharing the knowledge man. loving this

IanHubert

Ahh! I've been holding off a little because I think some workflow changing stuff is going to be happening really quick here- hopefully I'll know really quick! Although, I really want to dive into recording a bunch of rokoko actions over the next week here- here's hoping.

Where the ladder go though?!?! Secret scifi aircraft?

Anonymous

Are you kidding? :) Just seeing this image inspired me to come up with at least four different scenarios for sci fi books/movies/games and I just woke up so this is _before_ coffee. This is super! :)

Anonymous

This is so awesome! How do you manage to get that colour thooo

Anonymous

I actually used your plants for my first cyber-punkish scene attempt, I think they compliment it and blend well (Haveing growing greens on your space station is a sign of wealth): link https://youtu.be/8ypSOQ9BCXI I think the rocks are just what I needed to add a dimension to the terrarium! btw- the books in the background are also from one of your packs :P

Works for me - these will be super useful when I finally manage to create something...

IanHubert

AH!!! That's cool!! Dang that whole thing is slick :D And I dug the post-corona showreel!

Anonymous

Amazing, thanks Ian! I would love to see how you created the scene in the image above! The post-processing too, do I see some chromatic aberration in this? :)

IanHubert

Ah thanks! And o' man TOO MUCH aberration, haha, but yes! Unfortunately I didn't screencapture it, since I didn't even really know I was making a scene till 2/3 of the way through, but it's mostly just moving the rock bits around like legos until I like the composition. I talk a little bit about my usual post processing in this post :D https://www.patreon.com/posts/some-post-35533684

Thanks Ian. if possible, i would like to see some workflow/timelapse video of some scenes from you. As i can learn how you develop a scene step by step.

These got me off my butt and using them immediately - Needed some cover art for a demo track I needed some inspiration for (both the demo and the artwork) - having a low week, poor energy and focus. Thank you for getting me out of a rut.

For anyone doubting themselves, just delete the default cube and append these to your scene, move them off to the side and duplicate each one into a few positions, start with the ground covery one. Scale them differently and maybe a little on one axis for variation, lots of rotation around z and a bit of x or y. Use the top view for rapid distribution over the surface plane and ‘G’ shift ‘Z’ is useful for moving across the surface in other views. I saw the 'hooked' rock as a hero object and scaled it up and made it prominent, 2 will make a nice arch with a key stone - the coffiny shaped stone? Add a decent sized plane and move it in z to a height that you like and even without a shader it starts to imply a beach, shade it as water or what you like. Append Ian’s plants and do more of the above. I shoved in a techy object rotated it off angle and put a Hubert vine on it. Positioned it wedged between a few rocks and it makes a kind of industrialisation/nature statement with very little effort. If you haven’t guessed I’m no expert at all. But I learnt enough with that to see a few more hours effort would get me an image not a million miles from Ian’s - more limited by my imagination and composition experience than my ability to shove rocks around. I had to adjust my camera’s Clip End in camera properties to render more distant rocks in my scene and I added an HDRI.

Oh and I deleted a few vertices from some of my ground cover rocks at the edges of the scan. You'll know them when you see them...

Anonymous

Beautiful little scene! I'd like to see what happens next! :-)

Here's what I came up with: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=144717390558669&set=a.109565284073880&type=3&theater Again this is credit to the great stuff Ian gifts us not my skills, quite obviously. It's an example of how easy it is for someone with limited Blender experience to make something of value with Ian's massive assistance.

Ian, you rock. But seriously, this is the best Patreon I've ever joined. Thank you for the assets, tutorials, and inspiration. I love what you're doing, and hope to continue to support long into the future.

Mossy rocks Rock! Cheers dude.

Thanks again. I finally got around to putting something together, and accidentally used a lot of what you shared here. Fun to play around with! If you'd care to see: https://youtu.be/Qa89eD_-Tig

The look excellent! Cheers!

Man. This is gold for a level artist. Let's see how they look in Unreal 4.25!

IanHubert

OH! Cool, let me know how they work! I admit I'm always thinking in terms of film-type stuff, so a lot of times the assets have a "hero side", which isn't always an applicable mindset for games- I think these work from most directions, though. Damn I'm excited to hop into Unreal.

IanHubert

WHOA! That's so cool!! All the vapor and background clouds give it SUCH an atmosphere. It feels wet :D I love it

@louis-philippe Durand ,plz let us know how it works out in unreal and what you do in generell with unreal.
