Garage Find V12 BMW E32 750iL & Projects Update

You join me on a journey in the southwestern part of Germany where I avoid being hit by the garage door and run away from spiders. Oh, and I bumble my way through a luxury 7 series with 12 mighty cylinders that's been off the road for the last 5 years. Towards the end of the video, I do an update on current projects. I started work with BMW in England in 1986 and sold several 750il and 750i’s in the first few years they were launched. My favourite one was an Alpine White with full silver leather lwb I delivered in May 1987.. what a stunning car. £45000 or so new. And those early casts had no asc or asc+t ... exciting in the wet!! Looking forward to watching!

And some more thoughts. If my memory serves me correctly that is a 1988 model car because the outer lights have a cut out in the projector lens which allowed more light to shine down in front of the car. The earlier models had great projection but not a lot of light just in front. Also remembered tonight selling a 750i which was delivered in late August 1989, so very first of the 1990 models. This also came as a first that model year with asc (not T in the UK initially as this was a cost option) and I was very stressed as BMW had decided to remove the leather cover on the knee roll (I remember this because the car you’ve just been looking at had a leather cover on the drivers mini lockable glovebox) and the later cars were just plastic knee rolls for a few years even though they still had full leather transmission tunnel covers and door cards. The customer had ordered Cosmos blue with Pacific blue leather but the colour changed to Cirrus ( I think but light blue in any event) and with front sport seats. The car went like a rocket! Also, boringly, they introduced front and rear top tinted screens ... why god only knows you needed a green shaded band on the top of the rear screen!?? Like you I wish to see OEM wheels and not really keen on seeing lots of rubbish aftermarket alterations. Enjoying your work and humour. Keep it going ! Regards Paul

That's really nice, Paul. Thanks for sharing this. I think this is '89 after running the VIN decoder but first registration in 1990.

Aha may stand corrected ! It was many years ago :) and correct of course as it most certainly should be with those headlamps. Also UK cars didn’t have shiny wood until 1989. It was all open grain mid oak... not very appealing. I know 300bhp isn’t a lot now but as a 19 year old salesman driving one of those late at night on a motorway doing 155mph indicated on the speedometer and listening to the Eurithmics at full volume.... I thought it was the most amazing car in the world and felt incredibly safe.... first car I drove with EML throttle control as well... accelerator like a scalextric controller! :)

Hi! Glad to be part of your support group here. :) Very nice video. Sorry it didn’t work out with the seller. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. And btw, I fully understand it takes a lot of time to post new vids. Quality over quantity any day for me :) Cheers, Patrik

To bad you didn't buy that 750, when I bought mine it came with beautiful DEPO led rear light. I can send them down to you...
