Working on changes (Patreon)

Yes again, I'll explain why.

I spend too much time on working on Patreon requests. I'm at a point that I have around 1 or 2 drawings to make each days (week-end too). This is not what I wanted. When I made this Patreon page I wanted to propose content while saving time for commissions on DA and also working on my personal projects like "Goddess of Fertility" comic, 2D animation or 3D sculpt.

I'm actually seeing to change my pledges, in some ways. Firstly, by reducing the number of slots, to have less requests to do each months. Secondly, raising the price to avoid to lost too much money on the process (remember that Patreon allow me to live). Thirdly, I would like to add a new pledge, for $100 and 2 slots, who allow the givers to get a full colored pic with background or one colored comic page (about 3 to 5 panels).

IMPORTANT: I would also ask you something, and I'd like to have your opinion in comments please. I see peoples who are cropping their pics with Patreon logo and only release the full visible pic on their Patreon gallery. I wonder if I should make the same thing to bring more peoples, but I don't have the feeling that would be totally fair... So I'd like to know your opinion about this and give me your words if you think I could doing the same or keeping how I actually do.

These changes seem reasonable. I'm sure people will be sad to miss out, but those who are dedicated will understand. Maybe you could put the Patreon requests on a roster or something, and rotate it every couple of months. Just a thought.

It seems reasonable, though I think it will depend on what changes in particular are going to happen to your patreon tiers.

i believe the up in price and get a fewer spot will be a good idea

Slot changes make sense to me, there's a lot of value in the pledges which could be the reason why they're ALL taken. Though reducing the number will no doubt cause some issues. Who will get their pledge removed? The most recent pledgers? Or maybe a different way? Either way, if I end up losing the 'sketch reward' I'd totally be fine with it. The pledge mostly to support you, not to gain something from it.

As for the censoring... It'll be a slippery surface. If the parts were going to be censored anyway, like <a href="http://marrazan.deviantart.com/art/Requ-Kurisu-s-inflation-surprise-2-632928977" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">this</a> drawing due to dA's rules, it should be fine. But if you start adding censors to parts, it might not rub everyone the right way. But I think looking at other artists who actually do this, and their patreon would be a good insight of itself.

I agree with Auctus, The slot changes make complete sense as it sounds like you are swamped. As for the censoring part, I always got the feeling Patreon was more like a tip jar IE "I like this person, I wanna give this person money." If you add a censoring part, it would make that feel more like a pay wall.

In addition, you could make all the "two this or one that" into just "one that". So, that would limit the number of pics you would get from your slots, because people could only request one thing for their pledge, not two.

Well I think charging more and having less slots is fine. I know I'd still strive for one to get some awesome art from you. However I think censoring pics to encourage pledges is good even is they only cost a dollarto five a month to unlock.

The term of "censor" is not really fair, I've replaced by "cropped" who is more accurate from what I though about. But thanks for your opinion. The hard part now is to make peoples to choose to leave their pledges without to kick them. The objective is to cut at least half of the slots.

Yeah, this is silly but I though this option would make me less work... But it's the same because I have to work on two characters. But I also know some peoples (like foducool) who have interest to have the option of "two lower quality instead of one big". But for me you're right, the rewards should be limited to one character.

Well, GalKa told me an option who could be to make lower res for Patreon content (requests, Pool of Transformation) and adding a Patreon logo on them. Only releasing the full res on my Patreon account. So that would leave all my other content (commissions, collabs, perso projects...) at full res for everyone.

I don't think dude, Patreon staff consider every lottery as "gambling" and forbid this practice. I already done that and I don't want to try a new time (this is the reason why I propose the free raffle).

The two principals changes will be in the amount of slots. I would like to cut them at half. And raising the highest's pledges (Tier 3 &amp; 4) prices. The thing is also to explain the situation and let peoples to quit by themselves, without kicking.

The objective is to let peoples know that I'll cut the pledges slots and let them leave. I would like to avoid to have to kick them. Also, if the peoples are pledging for requests, that proof for me this is because I don't work anymore on commissions. So, if I can have 50/50 time on both work, peoples who don't have a request could still ask for a commission, as I'll retrieve activity on.

The term wasn't good, I mean to "crop" the pic. But on this point I think I got a good idea from GalKa: making lower res pics for Patreon content (requests, Pool of Transformation), and still keeping the full res on the other stuff.

limiting the amount of slots and raising the price sounds like a good idea to free up your time for your personal projects &amp; commissions. Personally I prefer commissioning artists to support them if possible. I would still support you on patreon at a lower tier though.
