It's speculated that the mysterious manga that they were talking about is a reference to a very popular shoujo/romance manga/anime from the early 2000s/10s. It's called "Kimi ni todoke" or "From me to you". A classic, one of the first few animes I ever watched, and one of my favorite shoujo/romcoms TO THIS DAY (and i watched/read ALOT). It had two anime seasons and a live action movie back then. Recently they rebooted with a live action SERIES and I hear they are about to reboot the anime too! I suggest you guys watch it. (I recommend the older version, as that's still a GEM, but I have hope for the new one too!)(lol, the plot isn't like how they explained it in undead tho, that was its own thing) The undead unluck author is most likely a fan of it, lol.

Now that I'm seeing the manga covers up close in the anime (harder to see in the manga), yeah that's 100% a reference to "kimi ni todoke". IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THEM!
