Power of Love Anime!!!!!!

AdventHorizons

so i talked to javon some already. my take for raidens "death" is we didnt see him get hit with that last blast (head on atleast) and it was supposed to be a "death" from shins point of view because hes always left behind and surviving last so he assumes everyone left him again and continues his suicide mission. he definitely got fucked up/ knocked out though hence no comms on being alive atm.

Just Another Josh

The directing on this episode is just so ridiculously high quality. The way they kept using the borders of the smaller aspect ratio was so clever. First Shin's doubts appear like liquid from within the border, then the borders closing in to cut off his team when he thinks they've died, and then to Lena stepping outside of the border entirely when she saves Shin and breaks him out of his doubts. It's masterful. The shot with Lena's foot (8:17 in the reaction) is one of my favorites in the entire series, despite being barely over a second long. Pure silence outside of her footstep (which replaces the gunshot), her stepping over a field of wisteria, and then her foot completely leaving the aspect ratio and crossing into the black bars. Her return silences his doubts, prevents his death, and opens his eyes to hope. Beautiful. The entire time she's approaching him part of her body is outside the bars. Then the bars fade and become more transparent as he gains more and more hope, before fully disappearing when he's told he should be proud of having survived. Whoever came up with these ideas is a genius.

Not releasing ep 22 and 23 together is the WORST blue balls lmao

Remember, the huge blasts from the Morpho left an EMP-like effect that essentially shut down the juggernauts and removed them from the other unit radars. Similar thing happened when Ernst thought the entire unit was wiped out from the first blast when the Legion laid out their trap a few episodes ago. That's why it seemed like Kurena and Raiden died from Shin's point of view. The rest of the Nordlicht unit also came to help Anju and Theo off screen (remember how Old Dude said the kids would talk shit for the rest of their lives if they didn't help and stayed home drinking). Also, the Legion had taken over the Republic, and that battle takes place in Republic territory, so that's why Lena is there fighting. Back in episode 16ish before the Legion invaded the Republic, Lena had Annette upgrade her PARA-RAID to be able to communicate to ALL 86 units and that's why she was able to connect to shin's device as well. You can actually hear Lena's voice in the previous episode during the fight when Shin's earpiece goes from "yellow" to "green" since that tech originally came from the Republic. The mysterious unit helping bombard the MORPHO was indeed hers, similar to how she helped with the mortar strike against Rei in the first cour. I'm also glad that Kiri was able to save Frederica. Shows that beneath it all, there was still some semblance of humanity he still had left. But yeah, fuck that cliffhanger. There was an 86 day delay between episode 21 and 22 lmao.
