Peak finally here. I remember I read the first chapter and bought the whole manga that’s how good it was lol

This studio did Ep 15 of Summertime Rendering and the people split off from OLM to make their own, BUG FILMS. New studios are almost always setup by industry veterans so good animation is not really that surprising. Also, the first half seems to be a dig at OLM considering the company's name was ZLM even though the new studio seems to be in an even worse condition in terms of time crunch.

Yeah, as soon as I saw that Ohtori seemed to be in good health, I knew she had to have been getting special treatment, and then the boss calling for her while brushing his hair like that all but confirmed my suspicions. Smh. Shame. Also the way they used color filters and palettes in this was so damn good. And going from widescreen to fullscreen. Very creative.

That moment when he quit his job telling off his zombie boss and then using that rugby tackle to knock him the fuck out the window must have felt so good cause i have had some bosses I've wanted to punch several times in my life. 😄

Shows like this and Bluelock are some of my favorites to watch with y'all just because they aren't quite my speed to watch by myself, but y'all make it significantly more enjoyable, and I look forward to this season.

These companies do exist in East Asia and the working conditions are pretty similar across China, SK, and Japan. For example, in China there is a thing called 996 which means companies will require you to work from 9 am to 9 pm 6 days a week ☠️. In Japan they're called "black" companies, which was translated to exploitive in the show but you can hear them say the English borrowed word black. Officially they are trying to improve working conditions but it's pretty embedded in the culture now (it also applies to school). For example, in my final 2 years of high school (the years that actually affected uni applications) i would study from about 5 pm to 2 am consistently and nobody would bat an eye because plenty of my peers did it too. This is also why stuff like suicide is really high and honestly why stuff like isekai is so popular (they're essentially suicide fantasies).

Wasn't sure if this was overhyped or not when I first heard about it. I am pleasently surprised by how promising this is. Super solid first episode. This is indeed cinema! 😤

really good breakdown of this sort of dominantly east asian exploit company culture. As far as Japan's progress towards changing this stuff goes there is minimal effort from legislature as far as I know but many newer companies are really putting in effort that they aren't like these legacy exploitation companies. It's generally thought that a lot of this sort of thing happens due to the older crowd who is now in management perpetuating this so because its definitely a legacy thing when/if they get their population issue under control or other ways that result in the work force getting younger and those older heads leave is when they will likely see meaningful change in this sort of culture since its a frequent topic of young to middle age salary people.

Not the asap rocky story 💀
