Aka Akasaka is really special and really doesn’t have anyone doing what he does quite the way he does it! Kaguya Sama and Oshi no Ko under his belt. Part of what makes kaguya an all time fave for me is how he can juggle multiple genres within one show and it works and is seamless. & even with Kaguya the way he addresses mental health shows a deep understanding of people and the commentary Oshi No Ko has on parasocial relationships & how performers are even dehumanized and seen like toys that exist for the consumption of their audience... Perfect. Another reason I’m excited for the next kaguya season bc the material covered definitely touches on what characters are experiencing mentally which we haven’t seen in a while on the show!

You should definitely peep the music video for the op song (which you hear at the ending credits of this episode). The visuals aren't the actual op (at least I don't think so), but it really just covers the first episode, so no worries about spoilers.

I know the auther's first manga, Ib bullet. It's also a dark manga. Honestly, between Ib bullet, Kaguya sama and Oshi no ko, Kaguya sama is the odd one out.

But when did you expect it to be an isekai at all? If anything I expected it to be an idol anime. Then reincarnation happens. And then it just escalates from there, but no other worlds come up in it, so idk how the expectation of isekai comes up.

man this episode was amazing. idk what it is with me and sappy bench scenes but that scene with the director and aqua talking on that bench about what makes an actor.. touched me. that's a real dude right there I'm glad aqua asked him to raise him.
