That death took so many people by surprise. I remember reading it in the manga and I was losing it. The way they did it in the anime was unfair. Literally: *Shogun dies on sister's lap* *me crying like a bitch* *acchi mute immediately starts* THANKS GINTAMA! ^My exact words I shit you not It was so jarring...and brutal.

What I love about the shogun assassination arc aside from the fights is how it makes everything that happened almost like a waste of time and effort for everyone involved. Gintoki and everybody went through so much trouble putting their lives on the line to save his life only for him to get taken out by someone he trusted. Rip the goat😔

Nah sun was alr coming down so it was alr evening and he was fighting the poison with all his will. That transition from him being pricked by the needle to him drinking tea prb wasn’t that long. He did his final request and then finally got some rest. No more shogun Ep 🥲🕊️

Only Gintama make a comedic relief character dead so painful, almost like you lost someone that precious to you. This is why Gintama sit in the same table as HXH and One Piece. It’s just build different!

10/10 arc! And just a little side note, Gintoki wooden sword is actually made from a diamond tree, the strongest wood lool. This was mentioned way earlier in the series, during that TV commercial episode

first time watching this I definitely thought Gintama was never gonna kill important good characters after all the comedy, so this arc's ending caught me off guard like CRAZY mannn RIP to the Shogun

so peak man I remember being in disbelief when he died like holy shit. That was literally a comedy character and I didn't think sorachi would ever take that route. So sad and like another said, it felt like a close friend has just died after all those fun appearances he had. like those shogun episodes were literally turning my day AROUND. RIP shogun man. Anyways on to the next arcccc

I like how in other battle anime, the main characters sword is usually some special composition grade sword found only in the depths of hell and Gintoki's is basically just ordered off of Amazon.

Now that I think about it, why didn't they watch the love potion arc before the serious ones? I remember that arc being dope, and is a great joke about shinpachis glasses there i would love to see them react too. Did you guys forget about it?

Some people were saying it wasn't necessary and had some spoilers in it or something along those lines for something. It was over a month ago so I can't remember. Check the comments for the reaction to 298 & 299

I dooooo NOT remember it as only 15 mins, that was like 2 or 3 eps at least! Its been years so i could be wrong, but i definitely remember it being a whole arc. With a whole epic resolution too! Once again, i might be totally wrong, but i feel like we might be talking about 2 different things......

Ok so i did some research, its 2 eps (didnt check how long each was, but the anime site i use says 2 eps), and apparently it was made after this upcoming arc, but takes place around the silent afro police guy arc. There MIGHT spoliers, so idk about the order to "watch" it. Ps: while searching i found out that there's a gintama and KFC ad out there lol (i only found one with chinese subs tho)

Love portion arc was a 2 episodes arc that just like the slip arc, got skipped at first but got adapted later and was supposed to be before Shogun assassionation. I mentioned it in the 298-299 comments to watch it after slip arc but sadly you missed it.

I gotta be honest, after the shogun arc things get blurry in terms of memory cause i remember reading alot of what happens after this (even the much later arcs) in the manga, but i remember animation too? (Maybe i searched up clips on youtube all those years ago). But since i READ it, i BINGED read it, and i tend to somehow forget alot when i do that. I read all of blue lock like this past October and i remember the FEELING i had more than then what actually happened. Weird habit of mine. Anyways, i would say u would be a better judge. But with my vague memory, yeah, after the shinsegumi? All i DO know as long as (you know who, the reallllll most op chara in anime) shows doesnt show up yet. Then we are still in "still ok to watch bullshit comedy" stage. Especially since, alot of the later arcs include possibly some of the most bullshit comedy in the whole series while STILL being serious. *cough* mayo cyborg *cough*

Honestly i think we should let them decide when they feel ready to watch 2 good episodes of comedy. I was thinking maybe after Rakuyou since the arc after that(last arc) has comedy in it too

Its been yearsssss, so I've forgotten, hehe For the comment below that one: well i mean its up to them *shrug* i just assumed that they would want to know about it. And may want to watch it. Considering that alot of us are paying to see them watch certain shows to its relative entirety. And even more so considering the fact that they clearly really like gintama, so as a fan, they may want to at least check it out.
