The fight scenes in this show are always great and there's a lot of good characters, but god is it frustrating how Tamaki is always portrayed. Even ignoring how she's used for 90% of the show's fanservice, she's never actually growing and is always the character that gets beat down for a different character to shine. When I first saw her I really thought she had an awesome power set that would have been incredible in a fight, yet she's never had a chance to actually use it and be competent in combat. The ONLY time she started to do well in a fight was her first battle with Assault, where she was just starting to get the upperhand before fanservice kicked in and won the fight for her. She's yet to win a single fight without reverting to a fanservice character. That's my biggest problem with this show overall. I don't mind fanservice, but it always interrupts serious moments and it constantly makes Tamaki look worse and worse. I just really want one fight that she actually wins on her own strength, no random fanservice somehow knocking out her opponent or someone else stepping in to save her. They don't even have to stop having fanservice to do this. Her clothes can be all sort of torn up or whatever, it doesn't matter. I just want to see her actually be competent for once. Right now she's just such a wasted character. She's got one of the most unique designs and powers in the show, yet she's never using it to do anything important. We are 44 episodes into this show and she was introduced in episode 3. Since the episode she first appeared in literally nothing has changed about her. We're getting more development for Juggernaut than her. It's mostly just disappointing because her design was a big part of why this show first interested me. Her powers looked incredible and I figured she'd bring some great fight scenes, yet she just kinda keeps getting worse. She's had exactly one good fight scene, which was only two minutes before it was interrupted by fanservice, and is repeatedly just turning into a comedic punching bag so some other character can be her hero.

Keep in mind though she has switched from a combat role to being a sister to help relieve the pressure off Iris being the only one. BUT I do understand your frustration and as a manga I ask you to be patient because her time is definitely coming!

It's just incredibly frustrating that every other member of the 8th has got their time to shine and grow at least a little, while she's actually become less important in a support role. It's good to know that she'll eventually get a chance to shine too, but it's just really disappointing to see just how much her character is being wasted so far.

Also i expect the story is gonna get to one of those cliche moments where the one team member whos away doin somethin else drops in and saves the day when least expected (in this case maki)
