Y'all asked y'all got it. It's not bad, but we don't think it's quite worth the hype. I will caveat that with the fact that we aren't super crazy about the cyber-punk genre so take that with a grain of salt.

Jumping into a series to "confirm its hype" will always leave you with a jaded perspective on that series. The preconditioned bias was already set in so it what was what it was. Akudama Drive gets a lot of respect from me because it fully understands the kind of series it's trying to be. Kind of a shame you guys didn't like it, but to each their own 🤷‍♂️.

I'm honestly not that into the cyber-punk genre either but idk I'm loving this series so far. It reminds me of suicide squad lowkey. If y'all can, I'd also recommend watching ''The Day I Became a God''. It has three episodes so far but it's hella good, airs a new episode every Saturday.

Kaladjoko

I enjoy the show for the style, but it is what it is if it doesn't appeal to you guys. I also recommend a series called "Yuukoku no Moriarty" from this season as well. Its good, and I think it deserves more attention. Watching the first two episodes should give you guy's a good sense of what the story is about.

Aht aht, I didn’t say I don’t like it I gave it a 6/10 so far and I also provided the caveat that cyber punk is not my style.

Just Another Josh

This season has some pretty great stuff so far, but this is one of the few I haven't really felt the urge to get into at all. Despite generally liking cyberpunk. I'm not entirely sure why. The only new shows for this season that I truly love are Jujutsu Kaisen and Majo no Tabitai (The Journey of Elaina). Majo no Tabitai is something that could definitely be a really special show, if they keep up the momentum. Think Kino's Journey except with witches using magic. Outside of those two shows, none of the first seasons so far have kept my interest and it's mostly just a bunch of good sequels.

That anime sounds very interesting, I thoroughly enjoyed Kino's Journey too.

As someone who is half Japanese and has transportation experience in Japan, I find it hella intriguing that they see their Shinkansen (bullet train) as a deity. I love the varying personalities, the animation, the premise, and the setting. And it's interesting they have the Goblin Slayer naming system, in that nobody's name is ever revealed, they just address each other by their class/occupation/role. Also there are two other big reasons why I love this show, and they're attached to the Doctor. ;)

Jiggy

BTW this anime is an original and doesn't come from a manga. It has been adapted though back in July when it was supposed to come out but got delayed due to rona

Khansama

Oh well, that's one of the coolest things about anime, there's so many genres no one's tastes are the same. If you don't feel it you don't feel it. I'm just happy a shot was given. Too many people say they'll check something out but they won't lol
