The studio that produces this anime is Kyoto Animation and sadly is the one that had one of their buildings burn down by arsen last year and caused many deaths of the studio with some well known names on that list. So this anime is already so emotionally charged already but it means more now with how amazing that studio is and the quality that they put into their work.

Fyi, both the opening & ending appears in Episode 3 so don't worry about that. Btw, the opening is probably in my top 10 favourites ever, same for the ending.

Kyoto Animation was a master in the craft of animation and story telling..... if it wasnt for Ufotable unlimited budget they would of been number one for animation in my books

Where are these subtitles from? Some of the translations seem a little off, or at least different from the netflix subtitles. For instance, when Hodgins shows Violet the stuffed animals she says "I don't need them," rather than "None of them." It's actually a pretty significant distinction because it shows how she views things based on their utility instead of just giving a simple "no." With that in mind, it then becomes even more interesting how Violet then feels the puppy with her face and mouth showing that there actually is value other than utility even if she doesn't recognize it.

That makes sense. I just happened to noticed with that particular scene being so early, but I don't think there's anything that's too big a deal. Hope you guys enjoy the series, it's definitely one of my favorite.
