While I love reddit, their current leadership are doing their best to ruin it. Wish we could use the platform in peace rather than having to fight to keep what is good about the site.

Ahhh Reddit. Gave it up a week ago. The API costs for third party Devs was just too much. I'm a software dev, and just one extra person ignoring this problem was too much.

Deleted my account of 14 years in protest of the current API and ThirdPartyApp problems. I know it's only a symbolic move, but we're all doing our part.

Investment money and the subsequent need for ever-increasing profits (even when it's already profitable) tends to ruin great technology innovations. eBay changed its pricing model to really squeeze sellers. Amazon's search results are now flooded with knockoffs and ads. Reddit is now blocking APIs. And so on...

i'm telling you guys. we have to return to newgrounds. it's the only platform i can think of besides like wikipedia that has managed to maintain its original integrity, thanks in part to being entirely crowd funded

I've distinctively gone off Reddit since they started charging for API use. There were some excellent 3rd party readers that are now moribund.
