We're definitely not doing skeleton animations in godot anytime soon I just can't wrap my head around it, in every animation program you just draw the bones over the sprite but in godot I couldn't figure out how to do it and using scripts & coordinates to rig something is just... a lot, when I could just animate it in moho and export the frames, which is what I ended up doing for rouge while using the parallax settings for the background which fortunately wasn't as complicated as the skeleton2d node.

I want to try to keep file sizes low so either I have to learn the new rigging system or take the phoenix wright route of animation and use less frames with more dynamic (and in my opinion, far more expressive and unique) keyframes to get the point across. I guess in the end I'll have to choose the method that suits the game best and since I'm still learning Godot and narrowing down possibilities that are within my skill set, it's looking like the Phoenix Wright Styled Animations may be the way to go.

As for the clicker mechanics, definitely something for a mini game but right now I'm still leaning towards either a Platformer, Point and Click adventure or Shoot 'em up as I don't think a clicker game will be fun enough to stand on it's own without graphics which is a problem because I want to design fun gameplay first, lewd images second because I want to make something that can stand on it's own marrits like Tribal Hunter, Hunie Pop, Shantae, ectera.

To be real, with the skills i have now, I think a Point and Click with controller support is the most suited for my already existing skills (writing, painting, character design, ectera) and if I went with a platformer / shoot 'em up it would still have a Visual Novel / Point and Click animation style so i'm thinking that since this is a first game I should just go full point and click / telltale styled with the game or at least have it be similar to huniepop.

I'll try to do more updates as I can, the world is kinda on fire right now but when I have something worth sharing I'll upload it here as soon as I can. Thank you all for your continued support, especially right now. Make sure you all take care of your health, happiness and hopes for the future and stay safe out there in body, mind and spirit.
