Hi, This is Muchi.

Lately, I've been indulging in sashimi quite a bit, so let me share a few photos with you.

It seems that the culture of eating raw fish, like in Japan, isn't as common worldwide. Interestingly, Japan also has a strong culture of consuming raw beef, chicken, and eggs, which might seem relatively unusual until it's pointed out from an outside perspective.

For instance, techniques like finely slicing squid to kill parasites before eating it raw, or the relentless pursuit of establishing methods to keep eggs fresh during distribution, or advancements in freezing technology...

But surely, if we were suddenly told, "No more raw meat or fish!" we'd probably just comply with any demands.

Despite the ongoing incidents of food poisoning from consuming raw oysters or meat every year!🤣

By the way, until a few years ago in Japan, there were some places where you could enjoy raw pork or beef liver. It was hugely popular, even Atyu-sensei loved it. But then there were severe cases of food poisoning, and laws were passed banning the consumption of raw pork or beef liver.

So naturally, at yakiniku restaurants where customers cook their own meat, you have to cook the liver thoroughly yourself.

Since it's a self-cooking style, of course, they bring the liver to your table raw, but remember to cook it thoroughly!

Indeed, it's not uncommon to find condiments typically used with raw liver served alongside. But that's irrelevant. It's banned by law, so it must be cooked before eating.

Although the staff might not always check if we've cooked it properly - they're busy with other tasks, after all!👀

We're cooking it! We're definitely cooking the liver!🔥🔥

By the way, eating raw horse liver isn't banned. I guess that means it's definitely safe from food poisoning, right?

Also, in Japan, having sex without a condom is often referred to as ”NAMA”(=raw). It's not about cooking, but about direct contact. It's a favorite expression of mine.
