Hi, This is Muchi.

Some local news from my neck of the woods:

There's this charming little shopping street that holds a special place in my heart, and recently, they took down the sign bearing its name. It's called "Chojamachi-Sennigai," and it used to be lined with shops selling all sorts of fabric goods, especially kimono materials and tools for making them. "Sennigai" means "textile town" in Japanese.

My late grandfather, who ran a kimono cleaning shop, had dealings with various shops in this street. I have fond memories of tagging along with him quite often when he went around in his car.

These days, the demand for kimonos has decreased, and the number of shops selling them has dwindled. Instead, the street has transformed into a place filled with various eateries and studios for artists.

Taking down the sign wasn't just because it was old; I think it also symbolizes that the street no longer needs a sign to represent its fabric-centric nature.

I'm really excited to see how this street, which seems to be drifting further from its memories, will evolve in the future.

Speaking of kimonos, it seems like they've gained popularity outside Japan, especially with the hype around "Demon Slayer." People are enjoying cosplay and fan art, and it's fantastic! Incorporating them into erotic manga should look great too, but it requires a lot of knowledge, skill, and time to draw them properly. Still, manga artists who manage to do it are amazing!
