I don’t do recommendations often, but a new fic by the author of A Summoner Awakens that’s promised to be extra crunchy? Yes, please!

<This is where I would put a horizontal line if Patreon's text formatting was any good>

Is this the end? Or just another beginning?

Waking in a new world with new rules and dangers lurking around every corner, a young family must adapt and learn to defend themselves. With mysterious new Grimoires by their sides, they push forward and aim to secure themselves a place in this untamed land. Separated from the rest of their kin, Kyle secures a safe location for his wife and children before heading out into this unknown world to bring back those they care about. Leah faces her own troubles, fending off not only the untamed wilds, but other humans vying for their little sanctum. Young Maeve and Rowan stir up trouble while their parents are fighting the odds while their older brother Greyson struggles with this new reality and pushes his group to search for his father.

Path of the Aegis is a post-apocalyptic story based around a young family learning their place and fighting to survive. Kyle, Leah, Greyson, Maeve, and Rowan are each a main character in their own right, and the POV switches between each of them as they wake up in this unknown world. The family's main goal is putting down roots and building a safe place to bring back their friends and family. Though the family and their struggles are the focus, this is a bit of a crunchier series where numbers matter and Kyle digs deeper into understanding the system so as to better help his children build and prepare for their futures.

Are these earthlings? Why are the names like that? Isn't Greyson a last name? Are people naming their kids Maeve these days?

It took me all of 2 seconds to Google those 2 names and find examples of both being used as first names. Maeve in particular seems to be popular Irish name?

Thanks for the shout Sen! I swear I'd already commented on this, but for some reason, I'm not seeing my comment here. I hope I'm not doubling up. For anyone who decides to give it a go, I hope that you enjoy it!

You're welcome, man! I'm enjoying reading through the slime killing stage (as is required in all litRPG)!

Going back through past comment threads, and found this rec - but the link on RoyalRoad says it’s been deleted! Anyone know what happened to it? Can’t find it anywhere else.
