BCC 22-24: Hi-Res Early Access (Patreon)

 I've been replaying Chrono Trigger for probably like... the 12th time in my life. It's the DS re-release that I've got rented from Gamefly.  It's honestly my favorite game... it's even managed to top a few best games of all time lists. The DS version includes some new post-game content and...  honestly, it's terrible. Like, it's not so bad that it ruins the game, but it just falls so far short of the tightly designed, fun gameplay of the original game that it feels even worse than it is. It also doesn't help that all the new content ties the story more into Chrono Cross, and while I acknowledge that CC is a solid game in its own right, it really did take a hot dump on the theme and story of Chrono Trigger. The extra content basically reveals that all of the main characters of Chrono Trigger are brutally murdered five years after the events of the game by the gag villain from Chrono Trigger.
