Hey everyone, first of all here's a preview draft of the next video, though this version is a few days old and is missing a whole bunch of stuff that's been changed in the interim. If you've been watching the editing streams then this is more or less the version from a week ago, since things were already finally getting into polish mode at that time.

At the moment it's looking like we'll be good to go on Tuesday, so if you want to wait for the finished version with good audio and completed graphics and re-shoots then maybe wait to hit play on the video but keep reading.

Or if you want it all to be fresh and new and shocking on Tuesday then stop reading now because I want to talk some logistics about what I'd like to happen with the release of the video, and that involves talking about specific stuff in the video.

So with all that faff I'll put in a line break and then the details.

----------------------------------------------------------------

A critical element of this video is that I wrote ("wrote") two books, one called Treating Epilepsy With Self-Hypnosis and another called A Skeptic's Guide to Hypnosis. The first of these books will remain unreleased lost media because it's bad and honestly not that interesting. I'll do a full post-mortem on it after the video comes out, but bottom line is I'm not going to give anyone copies of Treating Epilepsy With Self-Hypnosis so don't ask.

However.

I will be releasing A Skeptic's Guide to Hypnosis for free, but there's some Rules™.

How that's going to work is I'm going to post the .epub and PDF versions here to Patreon initially as a patrons-only post and then I'm going to let all y'all disseminate it. The book is free to distribute, you are welcome to post it in forums, chat rooms, wherever, email it, give it to whoever wants a copy. Share the tapes, basically. The idea is purely to have a bit of word-of-mouth fun with it spreading out.

Part of this is also that it, too, is not that great. I want to temper expectations here. It's not the centrepiece, it's not what I would consider to be a finished and polished manuscript, but it is interesting and there are large chunks of it that are actually pretty good and I think y'all will enjoy it, and I think treating it like a b-side or a concert recording that spreads mostly peer-to-peer helps keep it contextualized in a way that "hey, I wrote a book" on Twitter wouldn't.

Hopefully that works out and everyone has some fun.

Okay, with all that I'm going to get back into the mograph mines and finish these illustrations, hopefully see y'all on Tuesday.

The idea of Ghostwriter contracts to write junk even if it was decently paid in itself sounds frightening to me. On a level of a dystopic horror film pitch kind of scare.

I would just like to say that you look *intensely* Canadian in this video. (Are you Canadian?) I downloaded this to watch on the plane, and I watched it twice through. (This was partially because I'd forgotten to load anything else, but only partially.) and now I'm watching it again because it's finished!
