Starting up again... slowly. (Patreon)

Helloooo. You all deserve an explanation more than anyone else. I bit off more than I could chew a couple months ago. Summer ended, school started, I began work on a thesis film, all while trying to maintain a steady flow of illustration for commissions and Patreon. I'm not looking for pity, but for context, it spiraled into self harm and heavy drinking, so I stepped away from everything to focus on getting better. The earliest psychologist appointment I was able to schedule is on December 2nd, so I took a step back from all of my work, including school, to minimize further damage in the meantime.

And now I'm slowly coming back. I've been drawing here and there, trying to get that well flowing again. I've thought about what I did wrong and how I can make this all easier for myself. I was partly inspired by some of the more prolific furry artists out there that seem to crank out 2 or 3 pieces a day for what feels like months at a time. I am not carved from the same block, I'm afraid.

My attempt to dial back the work load a while back (the post before this) was sort of the beginning of it all, and I realize now that I haven't been true to why I draw things like this in the first place: for myself. The pride and love I have toward my own work is the only reason I ever picked up a pencil, and turning that into a job and trying to express the artistic ideas of others only made me fall out of love.

I will be speaking with everyone on an individual basis so that I may hand out refunds through Patreon for the rewards that they are owed. I will not be able to finish them. I'm going to begin using Patreon for personal work only, including 3D animation projects that I've been trying to do for a while, as well as any personal illustration work that I do. I will also likely stop taking commissions for a while.

The new Patreon reward tiers for this page will be as follows:

Tier 1: $5.00/mo

Early releases of all Patreon posts, which include personal illustration projects and progress updates/finalized versions of 3D animation projects.

Tier 2: $8.00/mo

Early releases as well as the ability to vote on the subject matter of upcoming 3D animation projects (what sort of kinks will be featured, among other things)

This will prevent any added workload for myself and allow me to focus on actually doing the work that I set out to do for this Patreon page.
