Fujiko from Lupin III really is one of the Great Damsels of pop culture. So going by the Yearbook's original mission of being a big tribute to all the damsels that made us who we are, it's a crime it took me so long to draw her.

Of course, I didn't really take that long--she was part of the Very Old Sketches, but at that time I just could not make her look good for the life of me. I was way too much of a scrub to do her justice!

The thing about Fujiko is that she looks different in each iteration of the Lupin franchise, for the simple reason that she's always going to be the character designer's idea of the sexiest woman in the world.

So as a total noob, I was neither able to do justice to that ideal nor able to grasp the essence of the character from all these wildly different references.

In the end, my rendition is mostly based on the recent TV series, similar to my Fujiko peril pic from a while back. I feel like the black catsuit is pretty classic, and I like my hair poofy AF, so this works for me. But maybe some day in the future, I'll go back and draw specific classic Fujiko designs, or even make my own ideal version of her. So many damsels, so little time...
