The Damsel Yearbook: Rise Kujikawa (Patreon)

The first of the last of the Very Old Sketches is finished!

Rise is one of my favourite Persona 4 girls, so it's no surprise I drew her pretty early on, but I had a lot of trouble at the time. And even when I redid the sketch, I still had trouble with it! Her hair is drawn very inconsistently, so ultimately I had to make an executive decision on how I wanted to do it. 

I think I went a lot more for the style from the anime adaptation and some of the new art made for the Golden re-release in the final product. I remember that back in 2018, I actually stuck so close to her portrait art that I gave her a lazy eye, lol. Of course that was just a quirk of the original artist.

I don't know if I've mentioned this previously, but originally I wanted all the P4 Yearbook entries to go together like the P5 ones. I screwed up planning it, so I don't think that will happen in the end, but I did give them all OTM gags. Why? Because they're also known as "detective gags", of course!

Extra bit included because I couldn't decide how to frame the image initially. Plus, I really enjoyed drawing the folds on her dress.
