It was brie! Had to throw the shell out in a ziplock bag, the smell was so foul.

Hmmm going on the colour of the cheese block, I’m guessing Vieux-Boulogne? Because that stuff apparently utterly reeks! (And has a very orange rind.) I haven’t tried it yet as the smell is apparently so bad. Otherwise, maybe Epoisses or Brie de Meaux? Both are very stinky but absolutely divine.
