There have been times I've felt the need to change shirts, and sometimes even get cleaned up, after being hugged. It's usually an entirely irrational impulse.

You say that like there aren't anime that have at least one episode that is entirely a recap episode. Inuyasha for existence has at least one episode that does nothing but exposit on events that have already occurred and I have no doubt there are many others, Martian Successor Nadesico (and boy don't I feel old now) had one as well from what I can recall.

If I remember correctly, Gundam Wing had two back-to-back episodes of recap with one new scene that later turned out not to be canon.
