December 2023 RECAP (Patreon)

Hello everyone. Thank you for sticking around with for more another Year.
It's been a minute since I've made one of these so it's going to mostly be a Personal Update post.
Cuz a lot did happen these last few months. (Nitty Gritty of the NEW YEAR at the Bottom)

It was a really tough end of the year. It felt like out of nowhere my mental state just tanked. Waking up and starting the day felt like a chore. Catching up on work felt even more of a struggle just cuz the drive wasn't there. But I pulled through and still finished the last batch of comms this year.

Around November, I was thinking of alternative ways to work and acquire income. So, for the first time in my Artist Career I went and applied to a game studio. Granted, wasn't a big one. It was a NSFW studio called Bun Fan. If you know, you know. NGL I was feeling confident about this gig. I didn't know what I would be doing but I knew I would be able to adapt to their style. Once the interview happened, that confidence slowly went down, and I waited for the longest two weeks of my life to hear from them...I didn't get the job. I know it's easy for most people to just brush it off and move on, but I was seriously banking off this gig to hopefully breathe some new air and to take a break from my usual work. To add insult to injury, I didn't even get notified about it until I saw others in the Bun Fan server saying they also didn't get the job. My email went silent, and it felt even more disheartening when I did find the response email. So I took a big mental hit there.

Afterwards, I was thinking about hitting up my friend to see how he was doing. He was injured for a while and couldn't work but was ready to get back to it once December hit. He's the one that works at the UPS, delivering packages. I worked with him before during 2020 and was thinking of doing the same this year. Because of some legal stuff he was dealing with cuz of his injury he wasn't allowed to exert himself too much. So, this was a PRIME opportunity for him to get a helper. Especially during peak holiday season. I would make good money, actually get out of the house and enjoy the outside and hang out with my bud...No response from him.

Guys, at this point, I just wanted a break. And when my last two opportunities fell flat, i didn't know what to do. So, I just stopped. I took a break myself and just did nothing. I doodled here and there, even finished some OC stuff, but it wasn't anything time consuming. Personal Backlog has even started catching up! So up until now, I've just been taking it easy, hoping for the best and that nothing bad would happen. So far, so good and I'm doing a lot better.

NOW THEN! For the New Year. I made sure to open comms again because "yes" but also, they'll stay open for a bit. Just so more people can trickle in as time goes on. FOR THE BIG THING I'm hoping to stick with is my new Schedule. I planned out next month to be more mentally stable for myself. In short, I'm prioritizing MY WORK over COMMS. That may be selfish, but I've been doing them for a while. I trust the clients I have now can also trust me. AND, If I get more work done for me, that means more Patreon Early Access stuff for you guys! I'll make sure to make a separate post showing you all my new schedule so you can have a better understanding. 

Other than that, besides rent increasing again in FEB (I won't let that put me down), I'm eager to start the new year RIGHT. FRESH. OPTOMISITC. And I hope all of you can continue being there with me. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. ♥🙏
