A lot of things to clarify about the whole movie. Sry if it's long (and sry if there're mistakes, eng is not my native language) 1st : When it comes to Saber Alter, the end of the 1st movie spoil the fact that she'll come back in another form, it remove all the shock we should gave by seeing her again vs Berserker Also, except at the end when she used Excalibur, before she was just doing mana burst, she's was too broken lol 2nd : Shiro lost his arm and Archer would disappear anyway since he took too much dmg, so he cut his arm just to save Shirou, nothing more. It works since they're the same person 3rd : When we see Shirou having those visions of himself killing Sakura, you see him having eye and hair with the same colors as Archer's. It shows that if he keeps his ideals, and so becoming a hero of justice, Shirou would kill Sakura to save the many. But by not doing so, he's betraying himself, his whole existence, that's why he was so hurt when he knew he couldn't kill Sakura... Sakura could not bear any longer seeing Shirou suffering because of her, so she tried to fix things but she failed 4th : Shinji... he clearly deserved that. At first, Shinji was really a cool guy, he was just born in the wrong family. He was the 1st to be born with no affinity in magic, but to him, just to be born in a family of Magi was enough for him to be special. He though that even if he can do magic, he could at least learn the knowledge for the futur generation. Then Sakura came, he wasn't against that, he even liked her... taking pity of her since for him, she's not the successor of the Matou family but then... he discovered the "training ground" with Sakura in it. His whole world fell apart. Shinji clearly do shit ton of bad things that can't be forgiven, but the whole thing is just a big tragedy where happiness is inexistant... you can't be happy as a member of the Matou family. When Sakura killed Shinji, she killed the only one that always suppressed, locked her etc... but now she has killed him, she's superior to the only one who was always showing domination over her, but at the same time, it has made her fall to the dark side 5th : the liquids Shiji created. The one he attached to Sakura as a hearring is just a fluid that increase sensitiveness. This just to awaken the crest worm in Sakura and so, condemn her to die. The 2nd one is just a liquid that react to mana by glowing up, and you see how it never glowed when Shinji was holding it while with Sakura it glowed instantly
