Your confusion about Tsubasa surviving her "swan song" is the exact reason why a lot of people, including me, dislike this translation. It's not only inaccurate, but creates the implication that the user is supposed to die after using it, which is not necessarily the case. The official english translation, Superb Song, or even just leaving it untranslated as Zesshou works much better imo. And as they stated in episode 4, the Zesshou is NOT a suicide bomb, all it does is releases the safety/limiters on your gear so you can use more power than your body could safely handle. Obviously this causes some level of backlash, depending on multiple factors, but a reaction as severe as Kanade's was should be very rare. And i'm gonna leave it at that, because any further explanations would lead into spoiler territory.

Thanks a ton for clearing that up for me because I thought that it was a pretty big plot hole at first! Now I see that Tsubasa was kind of "lucky" in a sense because she very well could've died but she was fortunate enough to pull though or withstand the bodily damage. 😅
