Bastard!! - Part one (Patreon)

It took way longer than expected, but I finally got to finish my own recreation of the infamous "Bastard!!" clothes-dissolving slime scene! (I'll be posting soon the panels as solo pics, but it was too many variants for a single post)

I did try already a few years back:

...but I had issues with drawing Yoko's fabulous 80s hair, and didn't like much how it was turning out so I never finished it.

Then I learned about the new Netflix adaptation, and thought now was the time to try again.

Speaking of that new Anime, it's actually a pretty good adaptation: the character designs are pretty good:

...and the series is extremely faithful to the original manga (most, if not all panels are recreated). The animation is pretty cheap tho, but this isn't the 80s or 90s when they had infinite money, so it's more a symptom of the times then a fault of the series itself.

Except for the slime scene: this one is very well animated, and is a way better rendition than what was done in the OVA.

Although the OVA added a whole new and amazing scene:

(on a sidenote, I'd kill to get at least one of the cels from that scene)

The Netflix version is only missing nipples (to be fair the manga didn't show any in that scene either), but this will mostly be corrected in the Bluray release.
