This one's a bit special: it's my first time drawing my very first waifu.

She's "Princess Sapphire" a character by Osamu Tezuka. She's pretending to be a boy as only a Prince can be the heir to her kingdom.

I'm most familiar with the anime as it was broadcasted in France as early as 1974 (!) but there were reruns much later as I watched it as a kid.

I was pretty young but I was feeling all tingly inside when seeing her:

I know understand why, as she pushes a lot of my buttons: short hair/tomboy, girl with sword (shut up Freud!)

But the question is: do I have these fetishes because of her, or did I like her because I already had these fetishes dormant?

I've been thinking about drawing her for a long time, even got some ref pics from a very exploitable scene from the series:
