As I said earlier, wanted to draw this scene for a looong time:

It does look pretty bad, but I still kinda like what I did with her pubes there.

The context, for those unfamiliar with the scene:

(I mix-matched  sources for a bit of variety)

Then this happens:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZAQXbQxkXs

Damn that's some crisp picture quality. Pretty great animation too

btw these screens/clip are from the 1996 DB movie "The Path to power"

I wasn't a fan of it back then, found the old DB movie much funnier. Also this scene was cut altogether from the version released in my country. Now I want to watch it in glorious HD quality, but apparently the DB/DBZ movies weren't released in Blu-ray where I live...

Anyway back to our story:

Goku and Bulma meet up with Master Roshi who gives Goku the Flying Nimbus as thanks for saving his turtle pal

(From the original series. Low-quality gif, and the art is a step-down from the manga, but I like the editing)

Which brings us back full circle

Mainly used this shot as ref for the background. Also posting this pic made me change Goku's gi color too (it's blue here but orange in the manga).

It was a bit of a long recap, and maybe it wasn't really necessary, but it was fun to make and compare the manga/anime/movie, plus I just realized the original manga is turning 36 this year.

On a side-note it was a nice surprise to see a HD clip from the 1996 movie, I fucking love to watch old anime on blu-ray: the textures on the paper look so nice, and the cells colors are so vibrant

Damn dems are some fine looking lines.

After this digression let's come back to art I've actually drawn; I've mentionned I was mainly working on finishing some WIPs, so the next update will be this:

Be sure to check back tomorrow around the same time for the final product!

This may be sacrilegious, but I think I like your earlier work better.

Ha ha nothing sacrilegious. It actually even relieves me a bit: I tend to hate looking at older works, as most of the time the defaults pop out and it's all I can see (you don't tend to see even obvious mistakes at the time you're drawing), so it's good to hear that not all is as bad as I see it.

Oh and btw, out of curiosity, what do you like better in the old version?

There is a simpleness to it I like. I find the overall form (the body, thighs, pubes, erogenous zones) more aesthetically pleasing. I like the simpler shading and coloring.
