Hi everyone! Chloe here for our final playtest-related Patreon post.

Today, we will be looking at a selection of rooms that were created during the Build Mode playtest. The devs each had to furnish and decorate 3 square rooms, with styles of their choice! This Patreon post is for Patrons only, so please do not share it.

🎯 Our goals with this playtest were:

  • 🐛 Are there any issues with the current in-game objects? Those pointed out by the team were known and mostly things that will be addressed in the near future.
  • 🪑 Was there any furniture or decor items missing? We weren’t missing any big pieces (phew!) and were given fun suggestions by the team for decorations.
  • ✨ Was there an obvious furniture style we had forgotten? The suggestions we received for this were already planned content.
  • We also wanted everyone to get familiar with the content that was added to the game since the launch of production, which is quite a bit!

A Selection of Rooms Created by The Team

Let us take a look at what the team came up with!

Gabrielle came up with this cute and calm bedroom! I feel like I’d have sweet dreams in there, although I’d always be haunted by the constant reminder that there are boxes left to unpack.

In the same vibes as the previous room, Alice created this pastel kitchen! I like the mix of the mint green and the warm yellowish orange used for the stools.

Léa went for a more industrial look for this cozy living room! We know she uses the build mode frequently because she is the only dev who used food for her build (foods are well hidden in the menus).

Léa also did a nautical-themed bedroom. We thought that perhaps eventually, some wood boat models would be a nice thing to have as decor to match this aesthetic.

Alex really surprised us with this very cluttered living room! We always love some chaos. It showcases many objects and the power of the advanced placement tool.

Andrei brought us a very colourful living space: the colors are so bold, it really gives this whole room a warm, summer vibe ☀️

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I made this gothic-style bedroom. I summoned my past teenage self for this one. Skulls and such are definitely a must for this type of decor, which could be nice to include in the future!

I also created this retro living room. I was vaguely inspired by my grandparents’ house when I came up with this one.

We don’t have the full furniture catalog in the game just yet, but it was interesting seeing what everyone came up with and how different the end results were, even with the currently limited selection. I think the team had fun exploring the catalog and creating the rooms. It makes me excited to get the game in y’all’s hands so you can also have fun exploring what we’ve created!

That concludes today’s Patreon post! Have a lovely weekend ~

These are lovely! The sheer amount of feels and styles that can be made already look amazing! My personal favourite is Andrei's - for no reason in particular other than I'm Australian and I like cool, breezy looking patios and sitting rooms. I also loved the idea of what we'll be able to do with Alex's clutter. They all look great. PS: I did notice that in the last picture, the mirror reflection of the door window is a completely different colour to the actual door window. Door window green, mirror reflection whitish. A slight bug there?

I love how there's already such variety in the furniture, and the customization/placement tools really allow you to use the same piece for something completely different. I love the colors and patterns of the rugs especially! helps break up the flooring, which was the same for most of the rooms. i hope to see more wallpapers and floorings in the future :)

By the way, an idea came to mind: what if all furniture or other decorative items were immediately in boxes when they were placed, but when you clicked, the box would instantly open? A touch of realism, perhaps
