💍 Important Life Events Community Brainstorming Recap (For Patrons only! Please don't share)

Hey there!

Christine here, reporting for one last time (and for the hundredth Patreon post at that! 🎉). And what better way to finish things off than to share the latest brainstorming recap with you, which was all about Important Life Events! A big thank you to everyone who participated, whether it was on Patreon, Discord or Reddit. I hope you had as much fun giving your ideas as I had reading them!

From birth, through a first kiss, a move or an accomplishment, important life events all hold a meaning specific to each person. In a life simulation game like Paralives, these elements take on their full meaning because they usually represent the milestones that will guide the players and create this immersive experience ✨

As always, I am happy to share with all of you today the highlights of this brainstorming session. As you might have guessed, many of these ideas overlap with other major gameplay systems so they can’t be confirmed quite yet as we are still in the early stages of the live mode.

 • Important events spanning across multiple days (with an array of different emotions throughout those days)
 • Events could have an impact on a Para’s personality (temporary traits, new fear, etc.)
 • Some events could be more significant to certain Paras depending on their traits
 • Immortalizing important life events as memories in a concept similar to a scrapbook (pictures, descriptions, stickers)
 • Possibility for the game to save these events automatically or for players to manually save their own
 • Ability to reminisce and relive the emotions momentarily (which could also help the Parafolks retain memories for a longer period of time, who knows?)
 • Pop-ups of animated scenes for important events that take place in rabbit holes (such as schools and workplaces)
 • An alternative to cutscenes being that the game camera automatically gets closer, with a better point of view when an important life event is taking place (with the option to disable): it makes the taking of pictures and videos easier and does not disrupt the flow of the game
 • Important life events related to birth, adoption, family, death, love, friendships, education, careers, health, achievements, pets and more (there were so many events in each category, I really thought about listing some, but it would have taken the whole page)
 • More unusual (and short-lived) life events such as: first time driving, getting a tattoo, first gray hair, getting an injury, etc.
 • Some life events could be positive for certain Paras while it would be negative for others
 • Ability to plan your own celebrations for these events

That is all for the recap of the brainstorming! Now, onto the new…

Finding special nooks, going down a flight of random steps, through a dim alley and by a well-worn arch to discover hidden bits of the area n know more about the Town. Finding special, n secret Nooks n Cranies, basically

Anonymous

I love town improving and it having an impact on game play. Maybe building something unlocks interactions or new stores etc.

Anonymous

Interactive street scapes: being able to sit on steps outside of an important building, graffiti, skateboarding with tricks (and annoyed/enraptured citizens), rollerskating and rollerblading.

Anonymous

learning something odd or unique about the town sounds very interesting, almost like the famous five books

Anonymous

In terms of lore I feel like an old castle or some sort of old historical building/ debris (depending on where town is, could be a temple, a fallen plane, an old ship, cave paintings) would be really cool to discover and hangout in. Could discover some cool history or mysteries that is already gossip or myth in the town. I love prowling around the open castles near me and photographing them. Also, seeing youth getting arrested or almost arrested for graffiti art or other vandalism would be amazing. Consequences!

Michelle Lovette

I think combining a few of those options plus others would be really great. Like being able to shop, going to restaurants, parks, the beach, museums aquariums the gym, getting to talk to the town, learning about the town, have block parties, big events like carnivals and 4th of July fireworks at the town hall or/and other places. Significant days like we have in real life like Juneteenth and Memorial Day, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years and those traditions. As well as little things like said before, hanging outside on steps, skate boarding, roller skating, being able to take family bike riders or family walks with babies in strollers. Going to the grocery store together and gas stations being able to have kids go in and get a snack

Anonymous

It would be cool to see the worlds have localised sports teams (like have seperate areas have different football teams for example) that can play against each other!

Michelle Lovette

And I think we’d like to see a lot of your poll choices implemented as well if possible. Town lore discovery is important, partaking it festivities is important, town gossip is important, maybe being able to make cookies or a meal to welcome a new neighbor

Michelle Lovette

But visiting shops, events and restaurants are huge

Michelle Lovette

Basically I want a lot of in the house and out of the house choices for all ages of life, that can be done as groups or separately without another para just walking off a leaving it mid strolling and talking or mid family bike rides

Andrea Digney

It would be cool to have your paras actions affect the town, even just in little ways, like there could be a plaque at the school and you could click on it and see the names of all the parafolk who have been valedictorians (if that's a thing) or if your para got to the top of a career they might get a bench or even a statue with their name on it. Obviously the player would be able to delete this stuff to prevent the town from being cluttered up. Also, I don't know if this is the place for this, but it would be nice if other paras would sometimes show up around town in friend or family groups that would stick together to do activities, so you could encounter the family next door bowling together or a bunch of teens who know each other hanging out at the beach or going in and out of stores.

Anonymous

This would help making the city feel alive so much! If you play with generations especially!!

Diamond Nicole

Take care Christine :')) ❤ Love the idea of adding some gossip among the townies. Although I dont want all of my paras to know gossip about a household and they live in a different world or town. Will we be able to make neighborhoods? If so, possibly adding traits like "close knit" or "high society" would be really cool!

Anonymous

Thank you Christine! And I love lore... for characters, for attractions, for locations... honestly its probably one of the main thing which fleshes out the game and makes interacting with built in characters etc all the more fun. But most importantly lore is nothing if those characters are not programmed with the lore that relates to them. If the character is in a 1 sided relationship, if you jump in to play them, their side should be full for love/lust but it isn't reciprocated by said person. So basically lore is only worth it if embedded and fleshed out. And not just words.

Anonymous

I'd love to see (season/holiday themed) festivals like the ones that were presented in the sims 3. They added so much life to the town. Maybe even smaller street festivals are possible that only span across one neighbourhood and is hosted by its inhabitants who know each other. Like the ability to have the neighbours come around for your paras birthday and celebrating indoors and also outdoors on the street :)

Anonymous

I also love oddities like a spooky house no one dares to get too close to or caves and hidden buildings like a caravan with a fortune teller or something. But maybe that's too occult already (hoping for many occults and mystical things though)

Sophie Goodman-Merel

Matchmaking! You could play a nosey para who sees two other Paras are compatible and sets them up!

Lisa Sarver

I agree with nearly all of the Comments so far. I'm thinking about Garage Sales as a way of obtaining clothes/decor from your neighbors if your Para is living cheaply. Ways to develop Rags to Riches gameplay.

Diamond Nicole

I'd like to see places that you'd see irl such as movie theater, restaurants, different types of parks, community buildings (like YMCA) that attracts all ages, game store ect. Some can be rabbit holes while others are interactive. It would also be really impressive to see some kind of annual parade or fireworks festival!

Lucy McClean

I love the idea of town history lore, both from the start and as the generations live out, when shops change owners, or get renovations. It would be great to have listed buildings that are not allowed to change because thay are part of the history, and part of the town, that automatically keeps a record and log of all the different places it has been - salon, shop, cafe etc. A museum that contains information about the town, how it changes over time. Having a job option to be a town planner and influence what happens with traffic/festivals/new builds. Having a mayor (as a job), being able to set budgets for schools/hospitals/street cleaning etc, elections, petitioning etc with the option to opt out, or focus in depending on gameplay interests. Street art and graffiti. Maybe have a secret para whose graffiti increases the value of buildings. Paranksy style... Or a similar kind of thing. Community garden, coffee mornings for parents and the elderly...

Anonymous

I really want my Paras to be forced to get out of the house and not just sit at home every day when they're not working. Supermarkets and stores, but I also love the ideas of discovering the town's lore and helping to influence its traditions.

Anonymous

Yes! I love the idea that when you go for a stroll in town/ go to restaurants, stores, gym, etc, you can meet fournor more persons, two persons or maybe only one person from the same household. Perhaps it would be more likely to see parents and kids together during daytime (in the right places), and maybe just parents, or one of the parents in late evening. Perhaps you could even meet two or three friends from different households hanging out together.

Kieran Wade

Thank you for 100 posts of awesomeness! You will be missed :-) wish you the best!

Anonymous

Would love some multi use buildings and what happen in them effect the community. Like a bagel shop down stairs and 2 apartments upstairs. And the bagel shop has a grand opening and the people upstairs can be happy about the new food options or annoyed by the noise cause they work late. I would love if like paras could snoop on others. Like a firetruck is putting out a fire and some nosy paras go out and watch or watch from windows. Would love if paras could have actual injuries that long term effect them and thier interactions with the town. Like when I broke my ankle I was really surprised the immense amount of non-disabikty friendly buildings, sidewalks, etc. I think it would cool if those issues could be fixed too!

Anonymous

A big vintage street market, food-markets, where you can buy ingredients more rare, better quality.

Anonymous

Community groups e.g. book clubs, mothers groups, social groups

Anonymous

I wish there will be a kennel lot on the town, so we can adopt our cats and dogs there!

Anonymous

car washes and gas stations would be cool! I'd love to see cars get dirty after awhile and need some occasional maintenance considering that we'll be relying on them a lot to get our paras places. dirty cars could also get somewhat clean from the rain too!

Bianca J

Can I say all of the above options listed. All of them I think it will make the town feel alive.

Anonymous

I wish also to see the parks more thriving and alive. Families/friends having picnics, people jogging, throwing frisbees, teens just chilling on a blanket while listening to music, goofing around, people on the bench reading, eating lunch, couples carving their names on a tree, Paras walking their dog, a cat stuck in a tree, ducks, sunsets, coffee-stands, bicycles...

Anonymous

All of them! Hahaha

Cali Ann Y.

Where’s the “all of the above” option? All of these sound like great ideas!! :D

Tee W

The ability to throw block parties would be amazing. Just people outside have a good time, dancing, children running around playing tag or having water fights and other childhood games(adults too), older people playing cards and things like dominoes. Just a huge events where a bunch of people get together and have a good time.

Anonymous

I would love to see large-scale things like train stations, airports, harbour buildings or shopping malls. Not necessarily prebuilt, but I would like to have the option 😄

Anonymous

I would very much like Paralives to have history. For example, that you know the life history of the neighborhood, even if only in a short way. I believe this brings one more reality to the game. It makes us more immersed. Thank you so much for making this game, you guys are amazing! ❤️

Tee W

A bunch of women standing near a fire truck talking about how sexy the fire fighters are as the put out the fire lol.

Anonymous

thanks for your great work , Christine ❤️

Anonymous

I would love a lot where families can have fun together; like picknicking, going camping together or going to a carnival or fair

Kymberlee86

I'm a little out of it today after getting my second vaccine shot but if I think of anything else I'll list it. This is off the top of my sluggish feeling head lol. • Which types of public lots would you like to see? Parks, amusement parks, sporting arenas and venues (a stadium or forum, football field, basketball court), restaurants with different specialties (buffet, pizza place, comfort foods, fine dining), beaches, campgrounds, hospitals, cemeteries, book stores, clothing stores, jewelry stores, theaters (they could have movies, plays, and acting courses), spas, airports, train stations, car dealerships (new and used), dance clubs, libraries, doctor's offices, technology stores, community center with classes and events for paras of all ages, a food truck parking lot where food trucks gather for a day to let all the locals and tourists come by and try but they usually move around the town or take turns being stationed there until like a Friday or Saturday. Oh and maybe instead of so many shops there could be a mall or mall rabbit hole where paras go in and shop at different places or eat. • What are some town events and activities that you would like your Parafolks to participate in? Town fairs, seasonal town festivals, town cookouts, community games and competions like maybe the mayor decides to do a hackers event at the local library and makes it seem like a fun event but really their trying to figure out which residents to keep an eye on lol. Or there could be a game of horse basketball, residents VS local professional players to win free tickets to an event. Meet and greets with local Para celebrities. Town hall meetings to discuss the community. • What should be the benefits of going out / exploring the town? Meeting paras, hanging out with friends, paras having me time, working, hanging out with family, discounts depending on the place and number of visits, learning things about the town or different places and paras. • Should some household actions affect the whole community? If so, which ones and how? Yes. If something happens in public like an argument between members of the household then it could be gossip. If someone in the household fights with another para not in the household the same could happen. If a member of the household decides to cook up something and it taste amazing then maybe whoever else came over and had some will suggest that they make something for the community cookout.

Kymberlee86

I would like to second the spooky house no one dares go near. I'd love all of this including occults sometime later hopefully!

Christina Ozeki

A natural history museum would be nice and the chance to go fossil, mineral (gemstones) and rock hunting and any fossils, rocks, and gems you find you have the option to keep, sell or donate them to the museum. This could also open up a job opportunity to be a museum curator with a promotional ladder to eventually be the museum director. Also maybe something like an aquarium where they can go and watch the fish etc. Plus, perhaps there could be places and events around the town where they can catch fish and again keep, sell or donate to the aquarium.

Lisa Sarver

If Garage Sales are too difficult to manage in-game... maybe Thrift stores that sell cheaper clothes and decor?

BonaparteBardithion .

If there's a cooking skill maybe Paras above a certain level could have "custom" recipes either with real custom ingredients or just a tag identifying it as unique. Maybe neighbors could ask for the recipe during cookout events and then have the option of making "Para's Pasta Salad".

Michael Green

I think similar to Sims 3 if your sim hasn’t left the house in a couple of days, they’d get a negative ’Stir-crazy’ moodlet. I think paras should get the same or similar (a negative hit to their mood). I think to make the action of going outside more beneficial, maybe the negative hit of going stir crazy should stick around for a few in game minutes before going away. I think this gives to player the chance to actually do an activity with their para as opposed to going to leaving the home lot, the moodlet going away and then sending the para back home. If hobbies and interests are a thing, it would be nice if there were public lots paras could visit that they could act out their hobby at. Maybe if your para’s hobby was painting/sculpting, they could visit the museum and join a painting or sculpting class and meet other paras with those interests. Maybe if they like science they could visit the local science center. Whatever rabbitholes are in the game, they could offer some type of hobby class. Also going to the market for groceries too.

Kanchaross J.

I want my paras to be able to have a picnic or a tea party! Just something nice and relaxing. For events, this is very specific. I hope that paras can dress up in historical costumes and hang out like the Renaissance faire! And thanks again for everything, Christine!

I'm a really big sound-geek. I appreciate a great sound-landscape that really pulls you in, and it almost feels like you're there yourself. With this in mind, I hope restaurants will have sounds that gives a warm cosy atmosphere. Chill music, the sound of plates and glasses and frying pans ocassionaly coming from the kitchen. The coffee brewing makes you almost smell it. The same goes for the rest of the town: sound of Paras talking and laughing, different types of birds, sound of rain hitting the streets, music coming from a car driving by, children screaming and laughing as they play. These little things. It would also be so great with small details like: -An artistic Para sitting on the stairs or coffeeshop while drawing buildings/people. (perhaps you could even be drawn by an artist?) -Teens gathering around a boombox, breakdancing, sipping soda. -kids being able to ring doorbells and then hide. -People walking while eating ice cream.

Sarah

Besides all of the above, I would love more locations that replace "phone features," even if they're just rabbit holes Like a shelter for adopting animals instead of calling or going online to adopt, a community center that can feature skill classes (weekly classes to learn a skill over a certain period of time would be fun!), a gym, and a daycare (where you can drop your kid off or set up to have them go directly there after school). A civil services building, maybe with a "task board" or something that posts small tasks or volunteer opportunities ("the hospital needs volunteers on Saturday afternoons for 3 weeks. Would you like to volunteer?") where Paras can meet new people or maybe gain skills or interest in new activities. Community garden, parks with a playground, etc. where Paras can spend time doing idle activities, like reading a book or having a picnic. A rabbithole museum with a rotating list of interests/exhibits would also be fun! It would keep Paras going back to a museum multiple times, with Paras having more fun if the topic is of interest to them.

Zeevryn

Ooh, if scrapbooks are a thing, can future generations of Paras look back at scrapbooks their ancestors have made? Like photo albums of family?

I JONES

Incidents and emergencies, so that Parafolk can film them and upload to Paragram or Parabook. Could be a little mini contest to see who can get their paraperson to collect the most videos or snaps of unexpected incidents.

Stewby

I want everything. Sorry but I do. I want the town to have those wee blue plaques that show significant history that happened in certain places. I want mini town fairs that the whole village seems to go to and everyone watches an event in the middle of the town square. I want the ability to people watch. Just sit on a bench or in a coffee shop and people watch and find some sort of joy or interest in that. I want to be able to go shopping for new clothes or food or again, sit in a coffee shop and chat with someone whilst drinking a cup of tea. I want to be able to organise stuff like a community rubbish pick-up where everyone goes to the park and tidies up or paints the playpark equipment or something like that. I think I possibly want too much but I want it all. Sorry. :/

Michael

The thing about discovering the town lore is that once you do it, it loses its replay value. I prefer activities that have value across families and generations

Anonymous

I’d love a weekly market where Paras can go buy things like groceries or decor (and sell their own wares!). A seasonal town event I’d love to see would be something like a Christmas Lights Switch On - maybe not from launch but possibly further down the line? I’d also really like for things like shops and restaurants to not be rabbit holes and be fully interactive, kind of like the community lots in the Sims 2 are. I want to see everything my Paras do (or at least as much as possible)!!

Bri Prichard

That would be cool if there would be an activity for us to make the scrapbooks for them!

Michael

Collectible items that require you to interact with NPC characters to collect. Perhaps you have to barter for items or do some sort of mini quest to obtain them (like Sims Makin Magic, but minus the magic)

Michael

I honestly would prefer no restaurant than a restaurant that is permanently a rabbit hole. If something is too much work for base game then it can be DLC. But my Strong preference is placeable objects like a coffee bar or a grocery store fridge that offer functionality and have set behaviors and can be placed in multiple lots rather than making a single lot “the grocery store rabbit hole”. These types of community objects offer flexibility for world builders

Anonymous

I'm trying not to post what others may have already suggested, so my apologies! But what about group social experiences? Like... pub crawls, ghost tours, tourist traps, biking club, park yoga, and ticketed events?

Anonymous

It would also be fun if there could be classes for dogs, obedience, tricks, etc. Paras and their dogs could attend together.

ResembleMedia_UK

Could we connect with friends on other computers , say if you have a steam account to invite another steam user to move next door to you and interact with each other's household

ResembleMedia_UK

collect NFTs and be able to display then in your home and allow users to create their own ..

Heaven Moore

I really want to see shelters for pets. Even if they’re rabbit holes ^^

Michael

I think for the basics the Paralives team in the base game need to build out the backend, animations, and world objects for basic retail via a cash register and npc cashier (which can be scaled with future DLC offering new types of retail), a timed ticket sale community lot mechanic (you pay an entrance fee and are charged for how long you are on the lot) and finally a type or food and drink “bar” object where you interact to order food and drinks

ResembleMedia_UK

Be able to grow food on your land and harvest them and sell them at a local market .

Anonymous

Pretty much everything I was going to say has been covered, but one community lot I would love to see is cemeteries! And I would love it if it were fully functional, so that when a para died, their gravestone could be sent to the cemetery rather than being on the home lot (I do think it would be nice if there was option to keep an urn on the home lot). Being able to visit ancestors' graves is very important to a lot of cultures so I think it makes sense to have in a life sim game, but most people don't have those graves in their backyard!

Anonymous

I'd love to see some little events held at bars and stuff. Like speed dating nights or business networking.

Anonymous

I would love to see the town have mixed use lots. In real life, many town/city centre buildings have commercial services such as shops on the ground floor and apartments or offices above. Some business owners even live above their businesses. Paralives could let the player mark different rooms or storeys of buildings as different lot types. Besides that, I'd love to see the paras walk their dogs around town on leashes. It would also be amazing to see dogs react to other dogs and humans, though I don't think this should be a priority for game development.

Anonymous

I would love a gilmore girls sleepy hollow type of town! Where there are town events and you can help out in making it a success in one way or another!

Anonymous

I aggree, but when you play, you add some lore in the history of the town too.

Wondrous_Mickey

I would really like to see aspect of town changing depending on actions of its citizens - as a mayor or council member, you could decide what will change and as a normal citizen you could try for a change by protesting or passing your ideas to town hall. Like maybe there is a empty lot down a street and you would like to build a children playground there, but someone else would want a dog park.

Anonymous

Play dates at the park or other community lots for toddlers/ kids would be cool to see. Or even study group at the library for kids/teens.

Anonymous

I want open shops like restaraunts, grocery stores, jewellry stores, and clothing boutiques that my para can visit and meet other paras inside.

Anonymous

It would be nice to see groups of people just hanging out together around town instead of just a ton of individual townies walking alone. Like a parent playing WITH their kid at the park, or a group of friends walking and talking down a sidewalk together, or a family shopping together, etc.

sm duta

unlock hidden areas of towns available only in certain situations (level of lore, relationships, skill etc)

Anonymous

I would also like generated townies to have pre-existing family histories/at least a couple ancestors already. I dont mind if they were randomly generated and only go back a few generations, just at least a little something to go off of. It doesn't have to tie into actual npcs the game generates, I would just like for the random people my character meets to not have been the first and only person in their family line to have ever existed lmao

Anonymous

I would love to be able to designate specific parts of town as districts or neighborhoods, and give those areas their own aspects. Like setting a series of streets or blocks as an "old town" or "business park" or "midtown" or "suburb" or whatever. And the sections could have different like, building requirements (no residences in the business park, buildings in old town can only use certain materials, suburbs can't have high rises, midtown must include at least x number of businesses and x number of homes, downtown must have mixed use buildings, etc). These districts could be premade, but customizable, so users could use the defaults, or change/select the required/prohibited buildings, building material restrictions, etc (possibly in a mod or external settings type environment, rather than in-game, though an in-game system would be rad) Paras could want to visit or live in certain parts of town. Introverted paras could hate visiting more populated city centers like midtown, while extroverted paras could be excited to go party at a nightclub, for example. New parents could want to live in the suburbs, but if they had a rebellious or activist streak, they wouldn't want to. Stuff like that!

Michael

Also cool if these districts have different land values. So land in certain district for any given sq meter would cost more

Anonymous

Mixed use lots is a big one for me, I'd really love to see it, and properly implemented!

Mirka Lintula

It'd be nice if paras could go camping! Bring a tent, build a fire, fish and cook on the fire etc. All the outdoorsy stuff. :)

Mirka Lintula

Oh yeah, and outdoor exercising would be nice, too! Like groups of tai chi or yoga or skiing and skating in the winter etc

Virginie M.

It could be really cool to add some realism to the real estate in the neighbourhood. For example add pop ups (or read it on the internet, newspaper...) when a property is for sale in the town. Or when your household wants to move out, have visits on your lot and then an offer (it can happen quite easily according to the difficulty level). I think that aspect miss in the sims, you sell your house, money fall from the sky or you buy one, you don't even see how and that's too easy

Anonymous

I'd love to see community events like a summer cookout at the school, or a carnival at the park. I'd also like to see the town get decorated for holidays, even if there's not a community event associated with it.

Anonymous

I always love the idea of reputation and gossip, that the community is aware of and will talk about the people living there. Like if a wife is known to be cheating on her husband and everyone talks about it, etc.

Anonymous

While I'm excited about the prospect of being able celebrate holidays around town, I'm most interested in day to day activities like clothes and grocery shopping, maybe even a weekly farmer's market?

Anonymous

Different shopping options, expensive or cheap (clothing, grocery, arts and crafts, toys etcetera) Places for diffirent ages to get together. Toddler playground, a place where kids can build there own hide outs. A cool place for teens to hang out, like a cafe, club or skate park. And lets not forget a peacefull place where elders can remenise about the good old days, play games or do crafts.

Anonymous

A strong event and event scheduling system will be key to making a lot of suggestions work. From simple OKAY dialogues to Control Logic for events. If you make it easy for enthusiasts to script an event, then you make it easier for yourself to provide new content and create new features. Good luck!

Alani Mason-Callaway

Public lots: pool, gym, community rec center, library, restaurants, shopping centers/malls, theatre (live theatre and movie theatres), playground, church, fairgrounds, zoo, school, park, sports fields, daycare, grocery store, clothes store, music store, family-owned businesses Town events and activities: block party, fall festival, pumpkin patch, garage sale, lemonade stand, music festival, contests, clubs and activities, talent show, bake sale, town clean up, scouting, farmer's market, bingo, sports pick-up games, community sports leagues, community theatre Benefits of going out / exploring the town: meeting new people, bonding with friends, fun, learning a skill, making memories, starting family traditions, exploring an interest, contributing to the town's history Household actions affecting community: hoarding in the yard might bring property values down in the neighborhood, parties late at night can give the neighborhood a lively (or loud!) reputation, businesses closing early and lack of nightlife can give the neighborhood a quiet reputation

kesionna

You may not be up to this exact thing but after launch maybe you can consider amusement parks and or fairs, maybe they can come into town at certain times throughout certain seasons. Like an amusement park or fair Gor the spring and summer. And a winter theme for the fall and winter. Also for example like a scary festival during the fall season

Anonymous

I like all of them honestly. What I would also like are active monthly conventions (anime, video games, comic books, etc.) and exploring underground tombs.

S&M Gonzalez

I really like a lot of different public lots and neighborhoods/towns that have that are each catered to each time of day and paras with diverse lifestyles you’d see if this makes sense. Like maybe during mornings you’d see more corporate type paras, writers, stay at home moms walking their children with strollers, paras jogging before work etc. And there would be lots where you would see these types of people. Like cafes, clothing stores, workers at restaurants having lunch, maybe even college students all studying up at one table. Afternoon would be same group of people mixed in with more or less younger or older paras by age, evening and night you’d have those who love to party, couples on dates, teenagers out, college students out etc. And there would be public lots opened more to suit them. Like bars, diners, night clubs, library, coffee shops, a few shopping centers, bookstores, etc.

Anonymous

I’d love to have a carnival that comes to “town” periodically. With fried dough, candy apples, etc.

S&M Gonzalez

Lots I’d like to see: coffee shops, diners, record/music store, vintage shops, thrift stores, mom and pop shops, flower and garden shop, different price ranged restaurants and clothing stores, movie theatre, opera house where they can also go watch plays and orchestra concerts, pubs/bars where they can also watch bands play at night, aquarium, zoo, planetarium, street market, pizzerias, video game arcade, boardwalks, big parks, camping grounds, post office, real estate agency, karaoke bar, food truck street where no cars would be allowed or just different food trucks are lined up on side walks around town. Night clubs that can have capacity change based on time of day. Overall I’d like to see lots change in number of paras on the lot based on the time of day it is and the day(s) of the week too, like say Friday and Saturday being more busy than other days. I think it’d be nice if paras were alerted about different community events happening in the world through newspapers, phone,or other paras being able to tell them through word of mouth like “hey are you going to ……” or “would you like to go to such and such event with me?”. Benefits of going out is being able to discover new parts of town your para has never been to before, including new shops around it, and getting a mood buff about lots based on whether or not they liked it and if they would go back. Paras being able to tell each other about new shops or stores that have come to town that hasn’t your paras hasn’t heard of or know about. But overall lots that have different times they open and close not all being the same. Community events like a seasonal fun day at the local park, neighborhood cookouts/block party, Halloween block party, Christmas time maybe a parade where everyone walks together and sing or plays music. I think it’d be cool if some household actions should effect the whole community or neighborhood. Like maybe a fire happens and it could shake up the town after a while, petty theft/robberies, maybe a para who likes to gossip can cause others to stay away from them or not likely to befriend.

Lane Brettschneider

I think about this ALL the time, so I'm so excited to discuss! Features I’d like in Paralives towns: - Parks - I’m excited to create different types of parks to include in my towns. For example, a town central park where festivals or markets can happen (a weekly farmer's market perhaps!), that might have a fountain or statue at its center, and some picnic tables so people can take their take-away to eat in the park. Then a park that has a playground and a sports field where school kids would go with their friends or families can go for outdoor activities. I expect to build these parks myself so I hope to have the objects/tools/lot types that would make it work. - Movie theater (rabbit hole); someone else mentioned theater in general where plays/concerts happen, and that would be cool too! - Restaurants - not necessarily controllable, but somewhere your Para can go with family or on a date (or alone!) and order some food. A bonus would be if they can take it home or order delivery. - Cafe - I guess this would be a type of restaurant, but more of a go-up-to-the-counter and with a focus on coffee, tea and snacks rather than meals. - Shops and grocery (depending on if you make grocery/clothes shopping a thing in the game); I don’t consider these ESSENTIAL but I would at least want to make buildings that look like these things to make my town feel full and life-like. - Community center - all sorts of activities could originate here; summer day camp for kids, community service projects, community theater, classes, charity events, it could be an event venue for weddings and birthday parties - the possibilities are nearly endless. - A cemetery - I would LOVE somewhere to commemorate my deceased Paras, where their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren can go visit graves, or even learn about local history. There could even be a pet cemetery section! My dream would be that we can customize rabbit-hole locations. For example, we can place a lot and place a specific door/object that indicates the lot is a rabbit hole, and which the Paras would “go through” when using the rabbit hole lot (school, grocery store, town hall, theater, whatever rabbit holes are planned) and then we can build around that door/object. So I can build a school that looks how I’d like it to look in the exterior, and it would function as a rabbit hole when Paras go there. I am really REALLY excited to build an entire town in Paralives, with different residential areas, various parks, and a downtown area, and being able to customize everything, including the buildings that will function as rabbit holes, would be really amazing. As a family storytelling player, downtown areas are a huge opportunity for storytelling. Town is a place where teens can loiter, families can go get ice cream in the summer, town can be decorated for winter holidays, Paras can go on romantic dates, etc etc! Even just having a few basic lot types but the ability to build and decorate it to create a custom atmosphere would be amazing.

Anonymous

I don’t remember if this has been disclosed: is this an open world? Or will you “travel” to town from the home lot and the town will have rabbit hole shops and things?

Ashley Strebel

I thing i’ve always wished to do in a life sim game is to become mayor and make laws and like run a campaign. it would be so fun! love the work everyone is doing!!❤️

S&M Gonzalez

Other ideas household actions can have on others and community. Perhaps death if someone dies everyone in the neighborhood would know, with that being said maybe there could be an object like a memory wreath paras place outside on their door that lets other paras know there’s been a death in the family and it would alert paras who pass by an maybe come by and give sympathy and the same could work for our active paras wanting to go to a neighbors home after seeing the memory wreath. New paras moving into empty houses everyone in the surrounding area could have mixed feelings about it or rumors could start before the new people move in. Paras knowing when a house goes up for sale or is sold, paras moving out. Paras noticing when others get new cars or do landscaping. Idk if this would be possible but maybe if there’s or arguing/fighting being done in a household and it gets loud neighbors could hear and start gossiping.

Anonymous

I have a lot of thoughts lol. I think I'd like community lots like playgrounds, cafes, bars, grocery stores, boutiques, etc. It would be nice if you could have events that happen more frequently like a farmers market, and some events that are seasonal, like a fair/parade/art show. I think it would also be nice to have a community theater or some venue where your Paras could go on dates or go as a family for fun

Anonymous

I would love to see things your Paras do have an impact on the town - for example if they had a messy divorce, other townsfolk would pick sides or gossip about the family. Or if your Paras do something wacky like have an overgrown garden, their neighbors could complain about it or issue them a fine for not following HOA or neighborhood guidelines. Basically I would like there to be things that could happen as a consequence of your actions, and add additional drama or challenges to your gameplay

Anonymous

It would be nice to see something like hiking trails lots for walking and picnic activities.

Anonymous

Would be great to see lots of different shops like clothing, electronic. Different food shops from supermarkets fast foods. restaurant, cafes. Lots of different styles of parks like Disney style, play grounds, nature ect.... Parking lots.

comprehensive galaxy

If it's at all possible, "mixed zoning" would be a fantastic town feature — player-designed homes that can also operate as businesses, or alongside businesses, like an apartment above a cafe or somesuch. Maybe Paras can lobby for certain kinds of zoning in their regions? Like whether NPC lots are residential-only, business-only, mixed, or for other use?

Fran Smith

Yes! I really want to see these types of things in Paralives, if they can do it.

Michael

Adding to this, I think there should be a placeable debug rabbit hole object that you place in a room and it makes the interior of the room pitch black and so that would be the place your para would disappear. But the rest of the building would be actually visibility and walkable -example: hospital might have a waiting area, cafe, and bathrooms visible but a door that leads to the rest of the hospital and that section of the build is blacked out and functions as the rabbithole

Fran Smith

Yes! This is exactly what I want! Every game could be different, depending upon choices.

ponyfhtagn

I'm just gonna mention some things that I like which often get overlooked: Graveyards, junkyards, cinemas, thrift shops, science labs, places to 'loiter', military bases, criminal hideouts, markets, abandoned places, haunted places, communal rental places (ie. hotels/motels, trailer parks and camping grounds), dog parks, playgrounds, natural sites (ie. caves, waterfalls, beaches, rivers, meadows, 'the woods', swimming holes), book shops, different kinds of bars (pubs, taverns, night clubs, lounges, karaoke bars), arcades, internet cafes, coffee shops (different from cafes), toy shops, music concert halls. Ability to 'combo' venue types, as in a hotel-and-pub, a gym-and-pool, fastfood-and-playground, etc. Ability to flag how much 'traffic' a place gets, ie. "this place is very popular, lots of paras show up here, it's crowded and bustling" but also "this place has only a few visitors" and "this place is completely abandoned." Also being able to flag what kind of visitors are more attracted to certain places, ie. "this area attracts teenagers" or "people with dogs" or "stray dogs" or "uni students" or "elderly paras" or "paras who like books" or "vegeterian paras", etc. Equally, an ability to decreate likelyhood of certain paras showing up. Also, home businesses, player-run businesses, maybe even an ability to attach certain NPCs to certain non-player businesses (so you go to the cafe and it's always the same four people who work there, rather than some rando each time or seeing the cafe guy also working at every other shop in town).

It would be great if Paras influence town activities and these activities affect all Paras. - ELECTIONS for mayor, police chief, school board chair, etc (there can only be 1 in the town). Candidates have to campaign their neighbors for votes - OPENING NIGHT at the theater. A creative Para writes a script. A Para in the performing arts career stages it. A neighboring family sees the production. The creative Para receives royalties from ticket sales and the acting Para gains fans around town - CAREER FAIR for graduating Paras. They learn what jobs their neighbors have - SPORTING EVENTS where the town shows up to support their local team / school athletics. - BOOK LAUNCH where a Para has written a novel / documented a scientific discovery / collected family recipes. A Para can cook the other's recipes or the school can assign the scientific text as an assignment. Paras pressure the novelist for a sequel. - FUNDRAISER for the museum. The Para who curates the exhibits commissions artwork from Paras around town. In summary Para's career decisions and creations (songs, books, paintings, investments, etc) should influence town events and the lives of their neighbors

As someone already mentioned, mixed residential and business lots and apartments would be awesome!

Anonymous

Protesting and voting in elections and the ability to be in the city council and deciding about taxes etc

TnT_Terry

Maybe having a carnival and or circus come to town? We would all love to build our own theme parks in town, but this would be the next best thing. <3

TnT_Terry

Yes by all means, please put the ability to build real apartment building in base game? This is my number one wish ;)

I’d really like locations that encourage me to explore around with my paras. For example, I would love to see a grocery shop, movie theatre (could be a rabbit hole), a thrift store, flea/farmer’s markets, outdoor festivals, a little bookstore, a community pool, a coffee shop / bakery, a community garden / community center, restaurants, a beach area, hiking trails, an arcade / bowling alley, an ice cream shop, a spa, etc.

Vicarious Human

"Secret Lots", having to do with uncovering secrets leading to ereas that were previously inaccesible. Ex: 1. Cutting down rotting tree leads to magical ferry-like pond revealing new foraging spot. 2. Finding collapsed tunnel that leads to secluded beach with ship wreck including treasure map (maybe leading to an island in DLC?), 3. Repairing an old dam to prevent flooding of an orchard during the rainy season. When the waters receed after fixing the dam artifacts of old rituals are uncovered. 4. Digging a water well for one of the residents ends up falling into abandoned mine that has the building material the town is in desperate need of. 5. Building a bridge for scientific discovery to access cave that contains special organisms. Basically anything having to do with exploring the outdoors and nature(plants, animal, bugs, rocks). Observing and collecting. Nature trails, caves, sunken ships, mines, islands etc...

Annamaris

Ooh, very awesome and cool ideas! I'd like to add preferably non-rabbithole caves and any lot "below the ground and sea level" to the list. Just thinking of finding the ruins of a forgotten city inside a mountain or a building at the sea bottom to be visited.

Alice Taylor

Thank you for all your hard work. ❤️❤️ hope you guys are taking care of yourselves ❤️

Trinity Smith

In sims 3 all my sims went stir crazy because the rabbit holes made me never want to leave my house. Please don’t overdo the rabbit holes. There was no point to going to any other lots bc there was nothing to do on them but wait for ur sims to come out.

Anonymous

It'd be great to have clothing/furniture/book/thrift stores and garden centres with items that you can't get from your home. I'd be fine with not showing the whole store but only a pick up area or a shell the parfolk enter. Someone mentioned this but I'd like to emphasize having people come in groups/with families and not have everyone walk alone around town would be cool

Anonymous

It would be nice to be qble to write the lore of the city. Have areas tagged as 'historical' and that promps visits (and selfies) from passers-by. Street market would be nice , specially if our own Paras are able to open a stand as well. More importantly I feel like the tools should be provided for people to create their own cities and their own lore in a meaningful way. I personally don`t care much about secret lots and exploring carefully crafted worlds if I cant make one myself. The problem with The Sims 4 was precisely that it had hand-crafted worlds and zero editing tools, so you`re stuck forever with the vision the devs had. Provide good, flexible tools for the community, and the community will gladly make the content

Anonymous

That's a good point: my biggest hope for this game is that it enables the player to build everything from scratch if he wants to!

Serasmiu

I think the ability to travel in groups, like in Sims 3, or date but with the ability of NPCs to have places they would like to visit in a list depending on the outing; i.e. "Errands" you bring some friends with you and everyone adds 1 location to go and complete an objective in exchange for relationship points and reputation at the business(es). "Girls/Boys Night" or "Bachelor/ette Party" the designated host will have a list of locations and objectives that must be completed before the timer runs out, in exchange for memories, reputation, and relationship points (MRRP). There could also be NPCs with locations should you ask them out on a date, or to hang out in town, or study together, etc. Basically, I would like NPCs to do more than fill space. I'd like to have a conversation with one and have them reminisce over a fond memory with me, and it deepen our friendship. Or criticize the way something happened that they disliked. It would also be cool if the Paras (NPC) who are working give an additional task to the User should they discover they have free time for a need of theirs: i.e. NPC from household needs groceries and sees User enter their employment and strikes a conversation.

Highlights of life events sound very promising list though anything is not comfirmed yet. Let's say, if you just create the events to have varying impact on paras' personality for example, it's already a gamechanging feature in a life simulation genre. Very eagery waiting for the live mode! I agree with the comments about having mixed, both private-business and having many "attractions" on the same lot, lot types and freedom to create and tinker the town freely according to the player's vision. As a world builder, it would be gamechanging to be able to easily create a "proper" European city plans. Really love the idea of having able to create your own rabbitholes mentioned earlier. It would be very nifty to have a debug menu which could be used to change the script of any 3D shell building and doors. In other words, the player would have freedom to create the looks of rabbitholes easily; either use the premade shells and change their script or build everything from a scratch. Being able to tinker the scripts of the shells would also enable the player to create big and dense cities without significant lag. Along with this, the idea of being able to combine interactive areas and rabbitholes mentioned in the previous post sound very inspiring. More text under the cut because of the massivity...

Annamaris

There are already many lovely and detailed lists on the thread. That's why, I'd like to suggest more general ideas about public lots: ▪ places related to hobbies and interests where paras can go in for. There might be both "DIY-practicing" and courses/lectures to be hold ▪outdoor attractions like beaches, forests and parks with activities and places to explore for all-ages and pets ▪public spaces built underground. Like little shops and restaurants on the way to a subway. Secret places found in sewers would be very cool to explore ▪lot, building and room traits to be tinkered by the player: what kind of atmosphere there is, what kind of paras it attracts... ▪different kind of stages for performances like live music, stand up, live and movie theatre, dance... Also a separsted stage where paras could dance ▪stores and shops where paras could buy the necessities needed for living. Not only intregidents for food and seeds for garden but materials and other stuff for hobbies like pencils and paper for drawing, wood for crafting etc. ▪"service places" where paras can affect their appearance like clothing stores, salons, barbers... ▪already mentioned but places for taking care of wellness. They could be free happenings like tai chi and yoga in the parks and beaches but also places to be paid like spas, hammams, saunas... ▪annual festivals, street markets and fairs where paras could sell their products and spend their time ▪places for public transport like bus and train stations and harbours where paras can travel to other town ▪places to eat and drink, of course. :D It would be nice if the player had the freedom customize what restaurants, bistros, cafés, diners, bakeries, street food booths, bars etc. offered and how much it cost even though the places were just the rabbitholes ▪not every para has a desire to visit outside their house. That's why, online and application purchasing would be nice addition. ▪mentioned already but an ability to visit somewhere and do something in a group. It would be quite important to see the group of paras really traveled together, not like the group of five where two of them drive a car and rest of them come by riding a bicycle. And some more special: ▪already mentioned also but waterparks and amusenment parks. However, really like the idea about annual circus and funfair visiting the town, too ▪a cemetery. I have no new arguments to add to the previous posts, why it would be nice to have ▪hotels and inns ▪observatorium, museums and libraries ▪ kindergardens and "day cares" for seniors ▪a bank or an for money affairs ▪fortuneteller and paranormal stores There are many lots I'm absolutely fine if they are not included in the initial release, please don't worry about that. Just hoping we will be able to build as many place interactive and non-rabbithole as possible when the game will be little by little updated in future. ♡

chameleonwren

congrats on the 100th patreon post! and a fond farewell to Christine on her last update <3 -> first thing that comes to mind is a public farmer's market. somewhere that you can bring your grown produce to sell, buy fresh fruit and veg, and maybe get a part-time seasonal job. could be some stalls for other crafted things if those exist. i love my local marketplace and would love to have my Paras have something like that too :D -> extending on that, public farm plots! we have a few nearby train stations in my town (i would love bus and train stations too, on that note. maybe rabbitholes, as a way to get to other neighbourhoods or an airport to get to a different world - if/when those exist in the game, that is!). but yes, public little farm plots maintained by some townies that my Paras can visit for farming skill or meet certain type people or get some seeds ideally as optional lot types or something, so that it isn't mandatory in every town -> maker's spaces with a bunch of crafting equipment (if that exists/will exist haha), so that Paras can pay a small fee and get access to space, materials, advice, and equipment. that could make it more possible to dabble in crafting or try it out without having to get all the equipment on your home lot. _> and... another idea, which goes in hand with a concept that I'm not sure is able to be implemented. the premise is: Paras aren't spawned on or linked to a home lot, but exist freely in the world & have existing lots assigned to be their Home lot or their Work lot (or their Investment lot if they own extra houses and rent them out, or own a Commercial building etc.) -> so that there could be homeless Paras, who don't have a lot assigned as their Home (or possibly even Paras whose "Home" lot is actually their vehicle?? then they could live in a trailer park!?). but so, with this premise, there could be a lot type for a Shelter/public housing/halfway home, where homeless Paras can go stay for the night. it could make for such a different way of playing if your Para is homeless, whether by choice or necessity. hotels/hostels/etc. could make use of similar coding idk -> next idea that comes to mind is Conventions there are conventions of all kinds for all kinds of fields and activities in real life, so why not have those in Paralives too? they could randomly happen in town if you live in a big enough neighbourhood, or they could be searched for on a phone or computer using a "Look for Up-coming Conventions" interaction or something, and that will generate one or several depending on the Para's skills or interests at the time of search. or they could search for a specific convention... and there's of course a chance there are no conventions either. but they could be a type of gathering/party which are unlocked when you get max level in a skill/hobby? so a Para gets max biology skill (random example, I don't expect biology skill in the game), and unlocks the option to host a Biology Convention or something. the actual conventions could be rabbithole either permanently or just to begin with depending on how it's done. if you/your Para hosts it though having co-hosts would make it possible to get a more successful event -> another thought... maybe certain events could be dependant on the size of the neighbourhood your Para is in, with tiers of population size? similar to City Skylines or just real life urban statistics. for example; hamlet, small town, large town, small city, large city, metropolis. and potentially designate suburbs when things get to a certain size so that only the local area is loaded in at a time. pls no sims 3 lag ;-; loading the graphics in a neighbourhood-sized chunk at a time, with further away events handled by code maybe? maybe a render distance like Minecraft's chunk render distance could help if not just loading a neighbourhood at a time.. idk i'm rambling now

S&M Gonzalez

I’m wondering will we have the potential to have lots with many/large crowds of paras inside them without it lagging the game?

S&M Gonzalez

More ideas Auctions and estate auctions/sales that happen at museums or paras homes. Like if a para has moved or died and no relatives they can have estate sales. Grand openings for new stores or parks or schools Open house for schools of all levels for touring different schools More stores: * Car dealership where you can also buy motorcycles and Vespa * Multi-use lots; like making an flower shop underneath an apartment. * Bike shop * Outdoor shop for buying camping gear tents, etc. * Maternity store and jewelry stores * Bookshop that has a cafe inside * Bakeries * It’d be cool if there were some fast-food restaurants and drive in diners * Drive in movie theaters * Pumpkin patches and orchards * Botanical gardens * Craft & hobby & art store

Anonymous

So many great ideas are already mentioned in the comments. I'll probably repeat some of it but I'd still like to let you know my personal most important things I'd like to see in the game.

Anonymous

First of aside from shops like Flowers restaurants, bakery.... etc. (not gonna list them all) I'd definitely like to have a public library, a youth center where young children or young adults meet to play with several activities. (table tennis, paper crafting, making jewelry or doing pottery) Its a spot for young paras to try something new and develope a new hobby.

Anonymous

Second I'd like to see community Projekts like it's Nature day und everybody is planting flowers and trees around the city or an event to pick up trash and improve the town. Perhaps every household could vote on it and you will be able to choose from a selection of scenarios. There could be a "ride your bike" initiative to reduce the US of cars if you chose. The same could go for other transportation systems. I'd like to see some sort of bus or public transport where you buy a ticket and get in, then watch from the outside how it moves until you reach your destination in town. but its faster than riding your bike. I personally also miss the group activities the most in games. Where you meet with friends and go bowling or go to the movies together or go into a mall together. I'd like some sort of shopping. After you designed your Para with the desired sets of clothes in the beginning (everything available at that point) but in game you have to buy new outfits and clothes if you want to expand your wardrobe or change. Town festivals like a summer festival with fireworks, barbeque and music on a green meadow or at the beach. Public pools and beaches with toys for children and toddlers. Walking trails into a forest with picnic spots and fireplaces. Maybe even some competition like biking or a marathon or swimming. A lantern festival where the town meets at a spot and then people walk together to a set place during the night.

Anonymous

And thirdly if you participate in town events... for example help the preparation for example making a cake or a lantern or get people to participate you can swlekt between different options and can change the Direktion of the event or the outcome. that could be in a positive or negetive way. if you choose to do nothing and just enjoy the event it will be standard. In the end you're able as a player with your play style and the events and initiatives to alter the look and feel of the town to add an additional layer besides changing the world direktly. Another idea could be an mideaval festival with knights etc. Of course also the most mentioned harvest or farm festivals. I find it important that there is something to do for every life stage to have fun and enjoy the events. The reaction would depend on the paras personality and experiences. Thank you for taking your time reading comments.

Anonymous

I really hope to see the sort of lots that go along with errands as well as the actual errands that would require you to go there. Things like getting groceries from the grocery store or a farmers market rather than buying it directly from the fridge, getting your bike repaired at a bike shop, going to the pharmacy for medicine or the hospital for more serious illnesses/injuries.

Vera Ohlsen

I know most stuff will be rabbitholes to start with, but maybe a small café with 2-3 tiny tables outside could be possible? Think "tiny Parisian hole-in-wall" with a single NPC who only takes orders and hands out the food. The para could sit at the table, enjoying the food/drinks and people-watch. Heck, you could take inspiration from the "wine-windows" and just have a literal hole in the wall where stuff could be ordered. Or make a vending machine, combined with public benches. I just want my para to eat food in public, it's a basic human need and leaving your house to do so is always a breath of fresh air.

Anonymous

Vending machines are a neat idea!

Anonymous

For me, I'd love town activities that involve pets. Strolls downtown with dogs, dogs playing at a dog park, fetch and frisbee at an agility run, and maybe even a cat cafe.

Vera Ohlsen

Communal dog watering station right next to the city park, where people relax in the shade of the tree(s) planted by the city founder, Maximillian Alex

Dizzardy

I voted for customizing the towns traditions and rules. It's not exactly the same but this kind of reminds me of another idea I had, for neighborhood traits. I'd love if we could give different parts of the town (maybe even each individual street) their own traits. So different locations would sort of have their own personalities, even down to individual streets and neighbourhoods.

Dizzardy

As for Town Activities. I'd love if it was possible to customize town activities and decide when and how often a year they occur. (sort of like holidays in the Sims 4 seasons) Also, in terms of specific town activities I'd really love if there was a weekly farmers market that Paras could buy from and maybe also set up stalls.

Cookielllama :p

I'd love to be able to send my toddlers to kindergarten. It could be optional to enroll them unlike school. Also if for example a para cheats on their partner their neighbors might like them less or more depending on their traits. That could also work with a para dropping out of school, losing their job... maybe a very traditional old woman looks at the single 40 year old man that lives with his parents and dislikes him for that but his friends like him even more for that

S&M Gonzalez

To add to household actions having affect on community one I think should be moving away, if they’re close that is and everyone is friendly with each other Another I think would be cute is when a family has a baby or they adopt everyone may want to come over to see the néw baby. Loud parties can have the cops called on them if neighbors complain of noise 🥳

Anonymous

One thing I would really love to see is more community/neighborhood/school activities. Like having a community center with free classes, hosting holiday events, fundraisers for the neighborhood, being rentable for parties. Schools to have little things like bake sales where you have to bake cookies, bring your kid to work day/parent to school day; even if it's just chance cards or pop up cards -- it makes you feel closer to the Paras. Having classes at libraries, readings at libraries. Seminars/lectures at businesses. Also I know I am in the extreme minority here but I've really always wanted churches, to have real funerals and maybe weddings, always thought it'd be cool to do kind of a Club system (in Sims 4 get together) but for religions, like have the alien religion, etc, super lighthearted of course! I'm just spitballing, but these are some of the things I think would make the game more inviting and cool. ALSO BEING ABLE TO OWN BUSINESSES, especially home business. Being able to go downstairs to your bakery after waking up, or to your flower shop. Off topic I will say please bring projects for schools, and after school activities. It would also be cool to have some kind of online university for adults or something. Alright love you guys haha, peace.

Anonymous

I think I've really come to appreciate Rabbithole activities, as much as being actively able to follow my character places. A robust list of rabbit hole options that have meaningful impact on your Para's current state would be really good

Joanna Hinds

I know I’m late but the ability to buy actual clothes and items (similar to how animal crossing does it where everyday the items change would be extra cool

Emerald Sausage

I'd like to be able to shop for furniture, clothes and other items in town. I'd like to have to spend money to buy clothes for them to appear in the Paramaker, whether that be at a shop or rabbithole in town, online or unlocking them in the Paramaker. I've always found it odd that clothes are free in the Sims, but you have to buy furniture. I'd like to have to save up to get the fancier clothes. Obviously, there should still be a sandbox option to unlock everything for those who don't want to have to pay for clothes.

Emerald Sausage

Maybe a bank rabbit hole in town, as it would be nice to be able to set up separate bank accounts for teens, adults and even children, so they could individually save with earnings or pocket money, rather than just one household pool of money, which is not realistic especially with roommates who are not family. So then teens can save for that cool guitar they've seen in the shop window in town, or children can save for a new toy. And a young couple could save up to move out of their parents' house, or save for their wedding. It would open up so many storytelling possibilities.

Anonymous

Public lots I would like to see include parks, cafes/coffee shops, restaurants, spas, hairdresser, tattoo artist, shops for certain high level goods that can be made as a result of in game skills. (Examples, baked goods, carvings/sculptures, paintings, sewed/knitted/woven items, clothes, etc.) Benefits of exploring town can mean sporting a new manicure, or reaping the benefits of a massage or excitement over a new tattoo or hairstyle, etc. I want paras to be able to go out and purchase things from my para's business and use them in their lives. (If they come in and buy a decor item, they place it in their house, etc) Changing the town by purchasing a business, or plot of land and developing it a certain way could perhaps effect surrounding areas/businesses etc. I also love the idea of if a family puts a baby up for adoption there being a place where you can go with another family and adopt those children. I want the town to feel like what I'm doing as a player matters, and interacting the the actions and stories of the other para's even if I am not actively playing them.

Giaduzza

Swimming in to the sea, beach parties, watching fireworks, shooting stars in the summer, but above all FUNERALS. Why they can celebrate weddings but not funerals? Parfolk who had a certain reputation in life could organize public funerals!

Giaduzza

Maybe this goes too far but I would like so mutch to be able to decide what kind of government my world has. Is it a democracy? Is there a king or queen, an emperor? Is it a military state? Is there a chance that the republic will fall in favor of a state of emergency with military all over the place? Imagine the endless game possibilities!

Anonymous

Yes! I really hope you can use the beach freely for both parties, swimming, water activities, and so on.

Anonymous

Could there be a zoo? I would absolutely love to be a zoo keeper or a veterinarian job/clinic.

LightDeficient

I would love to somehow customize town traditions and it’s culture, but I don’t think it needs to be an in-game feature that my para can choose. Maybe that could be a part of the Create-A-World tool coming after release? Then we could set a common cuisine type, specific gestures or traditions that are local to the area! There are other things too but you get the idea! :)

This is an idea for households action effect the world/town, idk how the AI depth will be but, I think it'd be also cool if not just our paras household action affected the rest of the world but even NPCs households too. Whether that be bad business moves that effects employess (if they own a business or work for a corporation), getting fired for a bad reason it could spread gossip to other places of employment or cause them to make the news, if they're criminals they'd always make the news or be in the newspapers, criminal actions could cause them to become suspicious to police and authorities if done too many times, maybe two or more paras could be in something scandalous together and it ends up getting leaked to other family members, another one i think would be cool is if a para ends up with a lot of money that could effect how others treat them and also alerts others that they became 'millionaire' 'billionaires' rather than just them having a lot of money (if they started with little) and it not effect anything external and internal socially and personally

All i ask for is some lore and town history😭 i want to learn about the other townies and make theories pleaseplease

Lis

How about public spaces where townies and players can do creative activities? Mostly I want to be able to share, gift, trade, and collaborate with townies on creative stuff like music or sculptures or whatever.

ResembleMedia_UK

would love to be able to communicate with other real users and possible interact with them on a game level basis

Actually all I most care is excitement when going out, It is not fun at all when you go out to the gym, and isnt any diff from doing it at home.

for town activities I'd love a parade for some random event. I think it'd be cool to have all the townies gather for it and mingle during. looove the idea for town lore, every town has a history and having townies research and talk to one another to slowly unlock parts of the history sounds fun. spaces that would be nice to have a town hall; townies can express concerns and see if they will be handled, and like if a townie went to school for journalism they could sit in on meeting for their stories, and be able to spread what they learned there to other townies by mouth.

I think the emotional change on days building up to events is smart. like a wedding, paras can be excited one moment and nervous the next, the cold feet. days before the first day of a new school can have a change on emotions and how the Para acts throughout the day.

Bars & Nightclubs would be awesome!

Lore! Lore always brings much more life to a game, please please don't ignore lore. Also, any activities and "everyday" things in town will be amazing. I need to have my paras go out in town - take a coffee with a friend, walk the dog/cat, drink a cocktail, go clubbing, shopping and of course go to the museum :)

Maybe it's old school of me to say, but I really want the option to build my towns and worlds, and customize them how I choose. That's honestly the most important thing to me. I'd also really like to have a way to stop my townies doing things without my intervention (like getting married and having babies or getting divorced / breaking up) because I am a rotational player. I like to know what's going on in all my households and take my time playing in each one. When Paras are totally individualized like that and doing big things on their own it's really hard to keep up and enjoy seeing that in each household since it's happening while you're busy elsewhere.

I agree with being able to build and customize, as much as possible. Worlds like in the sims 4 would be a major deal breaker for me.

Annamaris

Exactly my thoughts! To be honest, I've been spending much more time with TS3's CAW than actually playing the game. For the beta tool, it's quite useful though limited and frustrating in some aspects. But the best part is how epic and incredible different kind of worlds can be made once you master the tools. The possibilities are endless! That's why, it would be beyond awesome if we ever got the similar tool + settings from Nraas' story progression mod to Paralives.

I just hope they have the option to toggle it on because I am the opposite and this is part of why I don't like the sims 4

To make a lively town, I think all of these choices are needed. However, if needed to narrow down, I would choose: Visiting shops/restaurants/attractions. and take part in festivals/street events. Others could be treated as branching out activities. For example, while visiting locations, paras could learn about town lore and history, or they could gossiping and create connections. Another expansion could be to prepare for festivals/street events, players could set up town rules and traditions while paras could participate in preparing for those events.

CBaker

Yes, I would love the option of creating my own towns too.

Justice

I'm needy and i want all of it

I honestly would love it if we could interact and go into shops ect, own yoir own shop ect and be able to decorate it as well, i hated the part in sims where you can go in but not really interact with anything or even see inside....

Ohh please don’t make everyone para nervous about first gray hair🙏🏻🙏🏻 I know plenty of young people (15-25 years) with gray hair and… I mean there are so many causes for it except the age))

Wonder Luna

I don’t if this will reach but I hope there will be some presets to the towns rules and traditions that already made in the bass game And we can customise them in the game

Wonder Luna

So the game could feel like it’s an already established town with history in it
